Adopted French Bulldogs 2010

Here are the fortunate French Bulldogs (and a few others…) who found new homes in 2010 after boarding the French Bulldog Bus!

Jazzy, 5 years old, Washington State
“I took the FBBus in December, 2010!”

Jazzy came to her new home with serious allergies, but her new parents are very familiar with dogs with food allergies and their special needs, and she was able to get her on a proper diet. Her new parents also run a doggie daycare so she will be able to be with them all day, along with her new 3 pug fur siblings. Now that the human kids are grown and left the nest, there is lots of room on the bed for fur kids.k_kid_head3

Honey, 4 years old, Florida
“I took the FBBus in November, 2010!”

Honey was fortunate enough to find a new home with a young couple near her foster home in Florida!

Roxy, 4 years old, New York
“I took the FBBus in November, 2010!”

Roxy found a new home over Thanksgiving dinner when visiting relatives of her former owner offered to provide a home for her. Now she can have all the attentions of her new family but still keep in touch with her old family!

Izzy, 5 years old, Maryland
“I took the FBBus in November, 2010!”

Little Izzy has found herself a peaceful spot in Lynn,  Massachusetts with her new owner and his nephew.  Her new owner lost his beloved pit bull dog to cancer last summer, and now he is ready to spend the time and patience to help Izzy come out of her shell on her terms.

Rose, 5 years old, Michigan
“I took the FBBus in November, 2010!”

Rose has found herself a new family of dogs in Michigan where she is the smallest member!   Someone is always home  to cater to Rose’s needs. Her new family is familiar with rescue dogs, since they have also fostered dogs, so they are prepared to devote the necessary training to make  Rose the best companion that she can be.

k_kid_head3

Genie, 3 years old, Massachusetts
“I took the FBBus in October, 2010!”

Genie has found her forever home in Salem Massachusetts.  Not only does she have a new Mom and Dad and a new fur brother Louie to run with in the fenced backyard, she even has a new Grandma and Grandpa to help with all the loving and petting that Genie deserves.

k_kid_head3

Bree, 2 years old, Massachusetts
“I took the FBBus in October, 2010!”

Bree has moved to to New York state to join her new dad, a sergeant in the Marines, her new mom, a registered nurse, her new grandmother, a dancer, and her new cat, 6 year old Cheddar Cheese! This is not the family’s first French Bulldog, they lost their little Diesel to a congenital heart defect this past April, but as short as his life was, it was long enough for this family to fall in love with the breed and open their home to yet another little French Bulldog in need…

k_kid_head3

Maxie, 2 years old, Virginia
“I took the FBBus in October, 2010!”

Maxie didn’t have to go far to find her forever home. Her new family live in Virginia, the same state that Maxie was staying with her foster family. Now Maxie shares her new home with a stay at home mom, a dad who is a government contractor,  3 ½ year old twins, Milo the 4 year old Frenchie and Malachy the 7 year old cat.  Maxie can sit back and relax since there are many hands to scratch her back.  We are sure that Milo is looking forward to having a new friend to run and play with as soon as the new fence is up!

k_kid_head3

Peanut, 7 years old, Ontario, Canada
“I took the FBBus in October, 2010!”

Peanut’s new mom drove from Massachusetts all the way to the Canadian border to pick her up. The aptly named Romeo, a six year old French Bulldog who is definitely a lover not a fighter, waited patiently at home for his mom to return with his new big sister. Peanut’s new mom works from home, and every inch of her condo is laid out with the French Bulldogs in mind, right up to the little staircase leading up to mom’s bed!

k_kid_head3

Gizmo, 3 years old, Kentucky
“I took the FBBus in September, 2010!”

Gizmo won the doggie lottery – he found a 16 acre farm to call home in Tennessee!   He now resides with his new mom and dad,  two other Frenchies Margo and Fergie, and Harmony, Monty, Rowdy, Jingles and Cheyenne the resident horses, not to mention the cows that may wander up around the house on occasion as well. Running, playing and barking till the cows come home will now be part of Gizmo’s daily life. If that wasn’t enough, when Mom and Dad go away the dogs go to a boarding kennel that has air conditioned kennels for the summer and heated floors in the winter. Life is good, says Gizmo!

k_kid_head3

Luna, 4 years old, Massachusetts
“I took the FBBus in September, 2010!”

Luna has found herself a lovely co-op in downtown Manhattan which she shares with her new 3 year old French Bulldog brother Tucker – who looks enough like her to be her twin – two easy going cats, and a new mom whose flexible schedule gives her plenty of time to spend with her French Bulldogs. Her new owner is no stranger to French Bulldogs, and she is well prepared to make sure that Luna gets whatever she needs!

k_kid_head3

Desmond, 3 years old, Maryland
“I took the FBBus in September, 2010!”

Desmond was lucky enough to keep permanent residence in his foster home.  He is now a permanent member of a large happy brood – with two other French Bulldogs, a Boston Terrier, and four cats to choose from. Desmond has no problem finding a playmate!

k_kid_head3

Zoey, 4 years old, Georgia
“I took the FBBus in September, 2010!”

Little Zoey found her new home in Savannah, Georgia, and she has two new dads to play and cuddle with.  Since they are already familiar with smush faced dogs, they are well able to take care of their new girl.   There is another Frenchie mix in the extended family, so when Zoey and her dads go to visit the family home, she will have a furry playmate to hang out with.  Zoey will never have to worry about being home alone either since her new dads are away from home at different times of the day. Zoey has come a long way, from being an unwanted back yard dog to being her two dads” little princess…

k_kid_head3

Jackson, 2 years old, Rhode Island
“I took the FBBus in September, 2010!”

Jackson, whose high octane performance levels were too much for his former owner, has made Brooklyn, New York his new digs. He is sharing his home with an active young couple and their equally active 2 year old French Bulldog, Olive. The house has a fenced yard, “no holes!” as the new owners were careful to point out, and a dog walker comes every work day to make sure the young dogs get burn off all that extra energy!

Honey Bunny, 2 years old, Florida
“I took the FBBus in September, 2010!”

Honey Bunny went to live in sunny Florida. Some girls have all the luck, Honey Bunny’s new owner, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist by profession, has had French Bulldogs since the 1980′s and is very familiar with all the quirks of the breed. Honey Bunny is her only pet, but she won’t be lonely, her new mom has an impressive network of friends and family – as well as a petsitter – to make sure that Honey Bunny gets all the care and attention she needs!

k_kid_head3

Jessie, 5 years old, Texas
“I took the FBBus in September, 2010!”

Jessie’s soulful eyes spoke to her new owner the minute she laid eyes on Jessie’s photo.  Now Jessie is happily residing in her Texas home with her new mom and her teenage son and daughter to look after her, and French Bulldogs 11 year old Maggie and 17 month old Frankie to keep her company. Jessie’s new owner is well is well prepared to take care of her. Jessie won’t be the only wobbly-legged girl in the house, little Maggie also has weak hips and legs, and the family knows all about joint supplements and lifting the dogs on and off the furniture!

k_kid_head3

Lucy Louise, 5 months old, Kentucky
“I took the FBBus in September, 2010!”

From left to right in this happy gathering are foster mom Vicky, Lucy Louise, new sister FBVillage Graduate Sweetie Petie, new mom April, and new sister FBVillage Graduate Clover.  April works part time as a humane society adoption counselor, and even though it was difficult for Vicky to say good-bye to little Lucy Louise, knowing she that she was moving in with two other FBVillage Graduates, and knowing that her new mom knows just about everything there is to know about French Bulldogs and keeping them healthy and happy, she was happy to see Lucy go to her new home!

Precious. 7 months old,
“I took the FBBus in August, 2010!”

Precious has gone to her new home in Savannah GA. With a new Mom, Dad, human brother and Heidi their 2 year old French Bulldog, who is an FBVillage graduate, Precious may even shed a few pounds running in their fenced yard with Heidi and their 2 year old son. On the other hand, with all those people to give her treats… We know she is in good hands now!

Betty Boop, 7 months old, California
“I took the FBBus in August, 2010!”

While babysitting her son’s French bulldog for four months Betty’s new mom found herself falling in love with the breed, so when a friend, who has a French Bulldog named Dexter, told her about little Betty Boop she decided to apply. Betty now resides in her forever home with her Mom a medical editor in Huntington Beach and has found a new friend in Dexter. Along with all the fun she’ll have at the Laguna Beach French Bulldog meetups, Betty Boop looks forward to being the socialite diva she always knew she could be.

Huck, 18 months old, South Carolina
“I took the FBBus in August, 2010!”

We were never quite convinced that Huck had any French Bulldog blood flowing in his veins, and Karen Massaro, the head of Connecticut Bulldog Rescue, agreed. When a failed placement left Huck twirling his toes in Massachusetts, she very kindly reached into her own applicant pool and found a lovely home for Huck with a young couple in Rhode Island and their four year old rescue Bulldog, Lola. His new mom is thrilled with Huck’s more streamlined body – finally, someone who can go on walks with her – and Lola is happy to keep the home fires burning until they get home!

k_kid_head3

Frankie, 5-8 years old, Puerto Rico
“I took the FBBus in July, 2010!”

Frankie has joined his new family – mom is a lawyer, dad is a scientist, and 11 year old Scarlett is a Boston Terrier – in Roslindale, Massachusetts. Since Mom and Dad have to spend so much time at work, a dog walker comes every day to take Frankie and Scarlett just down the street to a lovely wooded municipal park for some sun and fun in the afternoons.  Rest, relaxation and a pretty girl to look at, sounds like life for Frankie is going to be A-O-K!

Burrito, 5 months old, Florida
“I took the FBBus in July, 2010!”

Burrito has found his forever home in Florida with his new mom, dad and French Bulldog brother and sister, Dexter and Nanette, who have been running each other ragged waiting for their new little brother to come play. Burrito’s puppy energy fits in perfectly with his new family. Burrito’s new home has a shaded, fenced backyard where he can romp around, and his mom and dad are well-versed in the importance of keeping Frenchies cool in the Florida heat. Mom and dad both work, so Burrito will be spending his days tiring his brother and sister out and his nights cuddled up with his new family (and maybe a Nylabone or two). Anytime mom and dad go out of town, the three Musketeers will get to go to gammy and papa’s house to get the royal granddog treatment.

Burrito’s new home sounds like puppy heaven!

k_kid_head3

Lily, 2 years old, California
“I took the FBBus in June, 2010!”

Lily has found her forever home in Long Beach, California with a new mom and dad to pamper her and satisfy her every whim. Lily’s new mom works close to home so she will be able to come home at lunch time to spend some time with Lily.

Thank goodness both parents are holding tight to Lily and keeping her grounded, because by the sound of it, she will be flying high!

k_kid_head3

Dobby, 4 years old, Kentucky
“I took the FBBus in June, 2010!”

By the time Dobby’s foster family got his skin and health in shape, they realized that they had fallen madly in love with him and decided to adopt him! Unfortunately, Dobby had other plans… which he made clear by quarreling frequently with his canine brothers and sisters. After a year of trying to keep the peace, Dobby’s foster family decided that he would be happiest as an “only dog” and Dobby was once again looking for a new home. It didn’t take long before he was snatched right up!

Dobby is now the only dog in his new family, where he still has two teenage human kids to play with, but none of those rascally canine brothers and sisters to compete with for his family’s attention. Dobby’s new mom is a paralegal and can come home during her lunch break to walk him and spoil him silly. Dobby’s got his own fenced yard to play in and is spending nights snuggled up in bed with a member of his new found family.

Looks like Dobby knew what was best for him all along!

dukeandbaileygohome

Duke, 3 years old, and Bailey, 4 years old
“We took the FBBus in May, 2010!”

Duke and Bailey are making themselves at home in Rockford Illinois. Taking on two new dogs at the same time was a huge commitment, but their new family didn’t want to split up this bonded pair. When Duke and Bailey aren’t playing with their new mom, dad, and brother they are at Grandma and Grandpa’s house hanging out with their dog and cat.  Now, whether they are running and playing with their own three year old human brother, or just sitting on the couch watching a movie with mom and dad, they have found their forever home together!

k_kid_head3

Brooklyn, 18 months old, New York
“I took the FBBus in April, 2010!”

Brooklyn has found her new home only a stone’s throw from the New York City borough she was named for. She now gets to be the only “child” and the center of attention of her new family in her new house – with a securely fenced yard – in Sound Beach, Long Island. Brooklyn’s new mom is a retail manager and dad is the head engineer for a manufacturing firm. Both have flexible hours, so that Brooklyn will always have lots of attention. Brooklyn gets a big fluffy bed to sleep in and when mom and dad travel, Brooklyn will be staying with Grandma.

Sounds like a great life to us, Brooklyn!

Taury

Taury, 7 years old, Oklahoma
“I took the FBBus in April, 2010!”

Taury packed his bags and climbed aboard his own private RV to go to his new home in Ohio. There he will get to live out every guy’s baseball fantasy with his new dad who is the mascot for the Cleveland Indians. Taury’s family also includes his mom, a police officer, 5 year old son, Bowen, 3 year old daughter, Parker – and Cleo, the family’s 10 year old cat.

Taury is one lucky dog – he gets to join the family in the RV when they travel, he can accompany dad to work, and there is a park where he can play that is right across the street from home. It

It looks like Taury hit a grand slam!

gabby02

Gabby, 5 years old, North Carolina
“I took the FBBus in April, 2010!”

Gabby has found her forever home with a retired couple in North Carolina. When her new mom and dad cam looking for a little clown dog that wanted tummy rubs and ear scratches, Gabby was the first to throw her paw up for that gig. Now that she is the apple of her new owners’ eyes, Gabby intends to fill her life with sitting on the couch watching the dog shows and gardening in her new fully fenced backyard. Retirement suits Gabby just fine!

vito

Vito, 6 years old, North Carolina
“I took the FBBus in March, 2010!”

Vito was adopted by a wonderful couple in Georgia who just couldn’t turn away from that long tongue and that hopeful face. Even Wheezy, their 7 year old Boston Terrier, is very happy with her new French Bulldog brother. Vito is flourishing in his new home, as we knew he would. Not only is he racing around on his “wheels,” but his new mom and dad are encouraging him to rediscover his hind legs. Even their dog walker has taken on the job of encouraging Vito to try to get from here to there without his wheels. His family tells us that Vito’s silliness charms everyone who meets him, and it seems like he’s always been a part of their family.

We’re so happy for Vito and his new family and hope that their story will encourage everyone to consider adopting one of our special needs Frenchies!

Take a look at Vito and his sister Wheezy and his wonderful new life!

Reenie’s new mom is very familiar with brachycephalic dogs from her previous experience as a vet tech. Mom now has the pleasure of owning her own business and can spend a great deal of quality time with Reenie at home and on the road. Reenie is very happy with her new mom. because she knows she has a big heart and is an active volunteer with various animal rescues. And also because she bought Reenie a lovely new wardrobe, befitting a little Frenchie princess. In pink, of course!

“I took the FBBus in January, 2010!”

Pammy, now renamed Jenny, has found her new home with another FBVillage graduate, Forrest in Nebraska. After seeing how much Forrest enjoyed his many play dates, his owners knew that something was missing from their lives (and Forrest’s too)… Forrest longed for a companion at home. Mom and dad felt so blessed with Forrest, they contacted FBVillage again for another companion. On Jenny’s trip to her new home, we are happy to report that Forrest actually tried to coax Jenny to play with him and both dogs were sharing a blanket!

Lola will be the only frog in residence, unless you count the two real frogs and Beta fish who already occupy the fish tank in her new home. Lola will have her choice of snuggle spots with one of the boys, mom and dad, or in her very own bed, and can look forward to family vacations on the Outer Banks, North Carolina, where the family makes sure to rent a house that allows dogs!

Lucy has found a home in Massachusetts, where she is sure to get plenty of attention from her new family – mom, Lauren, and her boyfriend, three teenagers and a Frenchie playmate named Turbo. Lucy will spend her summer days lounging in her new fenced yard or visiting relatives of the human kind. For those hot days, there’s air conditioning, and for those chilly nights, there’s plenty of room for Lucy on the bed. Lucy’s new mom only works 26 hours a week so she will have plenty of time to spend with Lucy. Lucy says, paws up to her new home!

Bella

She shares her forever home with two Boston terriers, Gracie and Bosley and French Bulldog Bugsy. Mikey, 11 months old, California
“I took the FBBus in January, 2010!”

Mikey has hitched a ride to beautiful Simi Valley, California. We are pleased that Mikey’s new owners, Jason and Heather, have previous bulldog experience and we know Miley will be well cared for.
