Alyse is a beautiful, 4-year old Frenchie. She was abandoned on the side of a road in California. Fortunately for Alyse, a Good Samaritan witnessed her being abandoned and picked her up.  FBV was then contacted to take this sweet girl into our care. Volunteers stepped in and she was transported to her foster home in Nevada. She was seen by a vet immediately as she had an erupted cornea, which the vet said causes great pain. Given the severity of pain, they removed her left eye. She was also underweight, had a fresh C-section scar, and had worms and really bad ear infections. After several attempts were made to get her ear infections under control, it was discovered that her infection was in the inner ear, which is surrounded by bone, making it difficult to medicate. Her ears will need to be monitored regularly to avoid infections and discomfort.

Alyse is a total sweetheart and has somewhat of a submissive nature. She is a very happy pup and loves to meet people. She does not play much, but she is a huge snuggler. She has a very bad habit of taking off if she is not leashed, so she will require a fenced yard and must be taken outside for walks on a leash. Because it is believed that Alyse may have been used for breeding, she came to the Village not house trained. In her foster home, there is a dog door. She has mastered the door but still occasionally has accidents in the house. She may have some setbacks at first in her forever home and may need some additional housetraining. Her foster family has found that keeping her on a routine has greatly helped with Alyse’s potty training.

She has no issues with sharing toys as she does not really play with them. She plays with her Frenchie foster sibling, though.  Alyse is leash trained, as well as crate trained. She does not currently know much in the way of commands but has a great deal of potential. She has learned her name and will come when called. Alyse does not require someone who works from home or someone to come home mid-day to allow her a potty break, but she would prefer it as any dog would.

When Alyse first arrived to the Village, she was not a very good eater and was a great deal underweight. However, now she is a major foodie and LOVES to eat! She loves strawberries, banana, kiwi, pears, apples, blueberries, carrots, sweet potatoes, yogurt, and coconut oil. Her foster family rotates adding these to each of her meals.

Alyse was a hot mess when she came into rescue. It is hard to believe someone could breed her and keep the pups while discarding her on the side of a road. She deserves a home where she feels very loved, as well as safe and secure, after all she has been through. Alyse is looking for a home where she can be herself and continue on the raw diet she has been doing so well on in her foster home. Alyse would also love a home where the family can spend a lot of time with her as she is a total love bug. Her forever family needs to be a family that will treasure her as much as she will treasure them!
