UPDATE 1/22/2018:

Baxter was adopted by her foster family when the biopsy of the mass in her throat came back as cancer. The Village is very happy that she gets to stay in such a loving home!

UPDATE 12/1/2017:

Baxter had surgery to remove a growth on her lip and is doing very well. The vet also removed a bunch of her teeth and biopsied a nodule that was found in her throat.

UPDATE 10/17/2017:

Here is an update from Baxter’s foster family:

“We’ve been fostering her a little over a week now. She came to us from a loving dad who, having gone through a divorce and about to start a new job, wanted the best for her. He didn’t have time to manage her significant allergy and skin issues (allergy shampoo baths, paw and mousse, fold cleaning, regular cytopoint shots, diet management and potentially other allergy meds) and regular preventative ear maintenance, as she’s prone to ear infections.

She’s a wonderful little 8 year old nugget who is starting to come out of her shell and play with her sisters (a 4 year old lab and 5 year old frenchie). Her allergies are almost under control (her paws were much worse a week ago and are progressively improving), but it will take a little more time to dial in the right allergy program for her. We have her on ear drops for an infection and are due back for a recheck in a few weeks. Her ears already seem much, much better.

As you can see, she loves to cuddle in the bed. We will keep you posted as we get her back to a clean bill of health.”

Please welcome new foster girl Baxter to the Village! Baxter’s foster family reports that she is a good girl but also an itchy girl. Baxter has been to the dermatologist and is currently on Apoquel and Cytopoint to help her allergies. We will keep our followers updated on this sweet girl as we continue to evaluate her.
