This handsome man named Brutus came to the Village via the way of a shelter in Florida. His owners, frustrated with Brutus’s incontinence issues, could not wait any longer to coordinate his transfer to our rescue and dropped him at the shelter. Luckily they told us what happened and one of our dear volunteers immediately hit the road to free him from the shelter. Luckily this boy’s shelter experience was very short!

Brutus is now getting settled into his foster home and his foster Mom is having the pleasure of getting to know him better. She reports that he is a super sweet and energetic boy. Brutus is happy to play with adults or children and is very loving. He loves toys and going for walks! As a bonus he walks great on a leash. He also sits nicely for treats.

Brutus came into our rescue with absolutely nothing to his name. Through the kindness and generosity of one of our volunteers, he now has a bed, bowls, leash, collar, harness….the list goes on and on! His foster Mom was so surprised and reports that Brutus is very thankful to have his own STUFF! Check out that picture of him with all his new belongings! If you have interest in donating a care package or items to a foster dog, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

While we don’t yet know the cause of Brutus’s incontinence issues, we are working to get to the bottom of it. His foster Mom reports that he seems able to control his urination until he gets outside but that if he is excited while inside that he does dribble. This problem is easily remedied by having Brutus wear a belly band while in the house. We will be looking for a very patient and understanding family for Brutus to ensure that he is never abandoned again for something that is entirely out of his control.
