Atticus in Ohio

May 25th, 2017|

 ATTICUS HAS A BITE HISTORY!
A FENCED YARD IS A MUST!
Atticus is prone to bite in some specific situations. He is a territorial dog at times and will bite if the situation arises. The only way to prevent this is to avoid those situations. This is not a training issue as he is reacting on his instinct in these elevated situations. If you avoid these specific situations, then Atticus is a great dog. You must […]

Alumna Olive

May 22nd, 2017|

What?  Another alumna?

This is the background on Olive.  Olive was surrendered to the FRENCH BULLDOG VILLAGE RESCUE because she was aggressive towards the owners’ other dog and sometimes their toddler.  She was very nervous around children.  Perhaps, it was her IVDD that made her protective of herself.  Poor Olive also suffers from allergies.

We contacted her new mom and have been updated on this beautiful, fun loving girl.  Olive is doing well!  She is a […]

LOLITA HAS A BITE HISTORY!
She will not be placed in a home with any of the following household members: small children or children under 10 years of age, dogs (small or large, male or female), cats, birds, or other small animals.
We received a call from a rural Indiana shelter about a stray female French Bulldog. After her stray hold was up and she went unclaimed, discussions started and it wasn’t long before we brought this […]

RIP Sweet Ringo

May 19th, 2017|

FBV “Georgia Gang” foster Ringo passed away on April 20, 2017. He was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer shortly after arriving at his foster mom’s home. Here is what she had to say about sweet Ringo’s passing:

“My beloved protector, FBV foster Ringo, passed today with the compassionate assistance of his hospice service.

I knew his time was coming but it wasn’t until a professional evaluation earlier this week that it became very apparent he was […]

Mia and Zoey – Update after adoption

May 19th, 2017|

Today, we not only have an update of one dog that was rescued from the FRENCH BULLDOG VILLAGE RESCUE, we have an update on two that were rescued by one family.

Zoey and Mia were rescued in March, 2017. They were surrendered because they were just not getting the attention they needed. The previous owner had passed away and they were given to a family friend. The friend’s family couldn’t fit them into their budget […]

Ellie (previously known as Fiona) in her permanent home

May 15th, 2017|

Ellie, previously known as Fiona, is continuing to do well. As you remember, Ellie underwent a tough time while in foster care. Multiple attempts to correct her breathing failed and her last hope was a permanent tracheostomy. Ellie is a trooper and recovered from this hard surgery and went on to find a wonderful home in the Pacific Northwest. As time passed, her adopters were concerned about the size of her stoma (tracheostomy opening). […]

June, formerly Elsie, in her forever home

May 15th, 2017|

Another alum? Well, just look at who we have in our circle of friends here at the FRENCH BULLDOG VILLAGE. Well, it can’t really be, but yes it is, our own June Carter Cash, formerly known as Elsie.

June’s mama, Michelle, told us this about her:

“June is doing great! She’s such a delightful girl! She’s come a long way since we adopted her. She is incontinent but we knew that when we adopted her. Her […]

Update on Alumna Brie

May 6th, 2017|

This is a story about Brie, one of our past alumna.

Brie was born in 2010.  Her original owner was starting a new career and would be traveling overseas.  There was no one to take care of Brie.  She would not get the attention she loved and deserved.  So, at the age of approximately 4 1/2 years, Brie was surrendered to the first rescue group. That was in June of 2014.  In September 2014, Brie […]

Alumnus Wembley

May 6th, 2017|

Today we have the story of Wembley.  Wembley was adopted around March 2014 by CJ and Jennifer.  Wembley was originally pulled from the shelter after being hit by a car. He was lame in both back legs and needed help immediately. The FRENCH BULLDOG VILLAGE RESCUE took Wembley in and got him the help that he needed.  Eventually, Wembley would need a permanent home. That is where CJ and Jennifer came in.  As of […]

Fergie’s New Life In Her Forever Home

May 5th, 2017|

This is the story of Fergie.  Her mom says “She is a very sweet dog and great with the kids. She is definitely a work in progress.”

Her mom also has this to say about Fergie: “My biggest concern is her ability to jump the small portion of the chain-link fence. We’ve had two issues with Fergie running down a busy 4 lane road just last week. She is starting to scare me. I feel […]
