In Memory of Gigi

April 16th, 2018|

Today the world lost a beautiful soul. Sweet Gigi (formerly Peaches), who was an alumna of FBV, crossed the Rainbow Bridge today with her loving family right by her side.

Here are some words from her family:

“Miss Gigi has been fighting very aggressive Mast cell tumors since July of 2017. We tried surgery and chemo and nothing was effective but she has been a fighter! We were discharged to hospice care about 3 weeks ago […]

Fly High Sabine

It is with great sadness that we let the Village know that one of our Alum has crossed the rainbow bridge.

A few words from the family:
“Hello French Bulldog Village. I have some very sad news. One of our Alums has passed. She became part of our family in 2013. You knew her as Roxy. We renamed her right away to Sabine. Sabine was our baby. She brought so much love to our family. We […]

RIP Alum Chauncey

April 4th, 2018|

The Village was devastated to hear that Alum Chauncey crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Here is a beautiful memorial tribute his forever mom wrote:

“I sat for hours dreading writing this. I write a lot of these for our past Alum and with each one, I mourn for their families. The pain each family experiences when we lose our best friend; truly cannot be put into words, especially one like Chauncey.

Chauncey aka the Ole Man came […]

Memorial for Foster Izzy

April 4th, 2018|

It is with great sadness that we let the Village know that foster Izzy crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past weekend.

Here is what her Foster mom had to say about this beautiful girl:

“Izzy came to the Village at 11 1/2 years of age with some serious health issues. She had IBD and protein loosing enteropathy. The high does of prednisone she was on to treat these issues caused Cushings disease. Late last week she […]

RIP Larry

February 20th, 2018|

It is with a very sad heart that we let the Village know that foster boy Larry passed away.

Foster mom said, “Larry had multiple seizures yesterday. We rushed him in for treatment but he continued to seize even after multiple injections. He also developed aspiration pneumonia from vomiting between the seizures. I know we tried our best but ultimately the best thing to do was to put him down. I’m so glad to haven […]

Memorial for Bodhi

Dear Village,

It breaks our hearts to make this post. Bohdi, formerly Butch of the Georgia Gang, passed over the rainbow bridge. Below is a sweet message from his family. Fly high sweet boy!

“On Christmas Eve, our sweet little Bodhi suffered a series of seizures. We rushed him to the ER where he had another seizure. They could not stop them and we had to put him to sleep to end his suffering. He died […]

In Loving Memory of Meatball

December 14th, 2017|

It is with great sadness we let the Village know that Alum Meatball passed away yesterday due to complications from megacolon. When Meatball was adopted by his wonderful family, he had been diagnosed with Addison’s disease. The family said he did wonderfully over the years with this. They are heartbroken and said he was a feisty man who loved to yodel! We send our condolences to his family.

In Memory of Olive

December 1st, 2017|

It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of Alum Olive’s passing. Olive was struggling with seizures. Her family fought hard to help her and reported that she passed away peacefully in her sleep in her mommy’s arms. Olive’s family said, “She was the coolest little gal around. Her good days were awesome and she was so loved in our little family.” We send all our love and condolences to […]

Memorial for Roe’s Bud

September 13th, 2017|

“Every once in a while, a dog enters your life and changes everything…Author Unknown”

This rings true for our followers, but one in particular on this day. Losing our beloved animals has a different reaction with each of us, much like losing a family member. Some, like our follower Janice Walker Pogue, decide to make the lives of others better and for her very generous donation to the Village we wanted to make this day […]

RIP Amos

September 8th, 2017|

The Village mourns today the loss of our foster, Amos. What should have been an elongated soft palate surgery to ease his breathing turned out to be a surgery that discovered a huge tumor lodged in the back of his throat. A heroic effort was made to give him a chance for life but the tumor was not able to be removed. Amos crossed the Bridge in the arms of those who loved him. […]
