RIP Sweet Ringo

May 19th, 2017|

FBV “Georgia Gang” foster Ringo passed away on April 20, 2017. He was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer shortly after arriving at his foster mom’s home. Here is what she had to say about sweet Ringo’s passing:

“My beloved protector, FBV foster Ringo, passed today with the compassionate assistance of his hospice service.

I knew his time was coming but it wasn’t until a professional evaluation earlier this week that it became very apparent he was […]

Holly, aka Halle Berry (part of the GA gang), has passed away

April 11th, 2017|

Our beautiful foster French Bulldog, Holly (aka Halle Berry) of the GA gang, crossed the rainbow bridge in her sleep 4/9/2017 very peacefully in her foster mom’s living room. Since she was headed for a consult appointment with a specialist on 4/10/2017, it seemed like the right decision not to rush her to the ER as she exhibited no signs of distress. Poor baby…..she was suffering more than we knew. All the great doctors at her […]

Run Free Vito

April 1st, 2017|

We received some very sad news from the forever family of Vito, a FBV alum.

“I don’t know what to write really. He was such a strong boy. He came to us unable to walk and ended up hiking mountain trails. He loved being outside and on the water and we’d always joke that he was a lab in a Frenchie body. We feel so lucky to have been his parents. He was available for adoption […]

RIP Brooklyn

March 9th, 2017|

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the sad news of Brooklyn passing. Former critical care foster Brooklyn, adopted by one of our volunteers, passed peacefully at home on March 1, 2017 at 1:45pm. Not long ago, Brooklyn was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumor. Please hold Brooklyn’s family in your hearts and send sweet Brooklyn love from across the bridge. If you are so inclined, we know that her family would appreciate donations […]

In Memory of Beef

October 22nd, 2016|

It is with great sadness that we learned of Beef’s passing. We send our love and deepest sympathies to his family.

Here is the email that we received from his forever mom:

“Beef was rescued from the Village in 2009; we had only 7 ½ years with him.  He, like so many other Frenchies, had horrible environmental and food allergies. When I saw his big smile and his floppy ears (from total ear canal ablations) my heart filled […]

Sweet Bella

July 28th, 2016|

SWEET BELLA

Bella was adopted by Elizabeth from the FRENCH BULLDOG VILLAGE in 2009.

Bella was an owner surrender to the village in 2009, at about 7 years young.  She came from Savannah with severe allergies and hardly any fur.  Her forever Mom Elizabeth fixed all that up.  Bella was a riot and had so much personality.  Her toys had to be in a certain place.  If you put one in Bella’s crate she would get […]

Run Free Rudi

January 27th, 2016|

FBV Alum Rudi has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We send much love and our condolences to his devoted family.

Here is a tribute to Rudi from his forever mom:

“I am so sorry to have to share sad news but we lost our precious Rudi on January 14. He fought a valiant fight against cancer and is a perfect example of how to fight like a Frenchie.

He was the light of our home, our little guy […]

Memorial for Peanut

May 19th, 2015|

Denise Belair writes:

It is so sad to share that I lost my beloved Peanut the morning of May 15th.  I helped her cross the Rainbow Bridge peacefully in my arms.

It has been my honor and pleasure to be chosen to nourish this beautiful soul since driving to Buffalo to adopt her from the Village on October 2, 2010.

I had watched the French Bulldog Rescues for a long time  waiting for the “right” dog. “Princess […]

Memorial for Rina

May 16th, 2015|

It is with a heavy heart that we must report the loss of another FBV alumni, Rina.  Rina crossed the Rainbow Bridge after a long standing battle with a respiratory issue possibly related to cancer.  Rina’s forever family adopted her in 2011 and are so thankful for the opportunity to have had such a beautiful girl as a part of their family.   Rina was such a gentle girl who loved to roll over […]

MEMORIAL – WE’VE LOST LACEY

January 23rd, 2015|

The Village has some very sad news to share. Our sweet, precious Lacey crossed the Rainbow Bridge on January 22nd. Her cancer was spreading and she was slowly losing the use of her front legs. She passed away peacefully with her devoted foster mother by her side.

As many may remember, this beautiful girl was found paralyzed and emaciated in a ditch. Her physical condition at the time indicated that she […]
