Memorial for Rina

May 16th, 2015|

It is with a heavy heart that we must report the loss of another FBV alumni, Rina.  Rina crossed the Rainbow Bridge after a long standing battle with a respiratory issue possibly related to cancer.  Rina’s forever family adopted her in 2011 and are so thankful for the opportunity to have had such a beautiful girl as a part of their family.   Rina was such a gentle girl who loved to roll over […]

January 23rd, 2015|

The Village has some very sad news to share. Our sweet, precious Lacey crossed the Rainbow Bridge on January 22nd. Her cancer was spreading and she was slowly losing the use of her front legs. She passed away peacefully with her devoted foster mother by her side.

As many may remember, this beautiful girl was found paralyzed and emaciated in a ditch. Her physical condition at the time indicated that she […]

In Memory of 2009 FBV Alumni, Rocky

November 9th, 2014|

My husband, Steve, and I are so sorry to inform you that our handsome young gentleman, Rocky, took his trip across the Rainbow Bridge yesterday around noon.

I drove off from Baltimore to Indiana almost 5 years ago to pick Rocky up from his foster mom, Marlene. I picked up Rocky’s Grandpa in Western PA, and we made our way through Ohio and on to Indiana, so excited to finally meet this handsome guy in […]

Run Free, Maggie Pie

October 2nd, 2014|

We received an email today from Maggie Pie’s forever home, letting us know that she has crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge.  Maggie was one of the EC-12 girls.  The EC-12 were former breeding dogs that were surrendered to the Village.  They had lived their lives confined to crates and so when they came to us – they had never walked in the sunshine or rolled in the grass before.  We are so thankful to […]

In Memory of Brando

September 12th, 2014|

Our hearts are heavy to learn that FBV Alumni Brando, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on September 5th. Here is the memorial that his wonderful forever home sent to us.

“He was born on November 6, 2006. He went over the rainbow on September 5, 2014. Peacefully in my arms.

It was obvious from the start that he was loved and cared for by his original parents. He was loving, calm, gentle, smart and knew many commands. […]

In Loving Memory Of FBV Alumni, Daisy

May 10th, 2014|

We received a phone call from Daisy’s owners today that she passed away last night. Daisy was originally surrendered by a family that did not have time for her with the addition of a new baby. Daisy was blessed to find a wonderful forever home that drove a long drive from Delaware to Sc in ordered to make Daisy part of their family. In her new home, she got to accompany her mom to […]

To Lockett, With Love

April 12th, 2014|

It is with great sadness that we announce that our sweet Lockett, of the East Coast 12, has gone to the rainbow bridge. She passed away April 11 after suffering from liver failure. Lockett died peacefully with Greg and I by her side. She would have been 8 years old on May 22.

We adopted Lockett in May 2013 as first time dog owners. She was quiet at first, but soon started showing her personality […]

Buzz’s Shooting Star

November 19th, 2013|

If you see a shooting star tonight, please wave.
It is our Buzz hitching a ride to heaven.
You see, shooting stars come down to pick up passengers who are ready, then they shoot back up to heaven.
Fast enough for the passengers to giggle, but too fast for us to see.

Buzz, whose health was a challenge from the start, developed a neurological condition. FBV kept steady, until Buzz began to decline so rapidly, that he asked […]

In Loving Memory of Sweet Dimples

September 14th, 2013|

It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that one of the EC-12 girls, Dimples, has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We take great solace in knowing that these last few months, Dimples knew what it was to really be loved by her foster mom and her new forever home. She along with the rest of the east coast crew had only really begun their lives living as all dogs should […]

Sweet Vinnie Has Gone To The Bridge

August 6th, 2013|

It is with a very heavy heart that I am sharing the news that my baby boy passed away today. We had only 7 days together since his diagnosis but I promise you all that every one of those was filled with as much love as a day could hold. Other than work, I have spent all of my time enjoying each moment that we had. We have had many stroller rides, cuddles, and […]
