UPDATE 10/30/2018:

It has been approximately a week since Chica was spayed, and she is doing very well. She is definitely getting her “I want to play” instinct back. She will need to return to the vet in 10-14 days to get the staples holding her incision together removed. Ouch….sounds painful, but this girl is strong and will do wonderfully with her awesome foster mom by her side! Chica has been receiving drops in her ears twice a day so the vet will check to see how the drops are working during her follow-up visit. She has been better about scratching her ears though. She has just a couple days left on one of her meds and will stay on apoquel once a day. She is such a good girl but don’t leave any type of food on the kitchen table or the pantry door open and turn your head, because she will find a way to get something to eat. Chica follows her foster momma everywhere and has to sit and sleep 💤 right next to her people. Chica also loves the fall weather!

Please welcome Chica to the Village!!! She is a beautiful brindle, 2 year old Frenchie, and she is currently residing in Central Florida in one of our wonderful foster homes.

Chica needs surgery as her inner eardrum is protruding out of her one ear. Her previous owners could not afford the costly surgery to repair her ear so they surrendered her to the Village. Chica has been to the vet while in rescue and it has been recommended that she undergo a TECA (Total Ear Canal Ablation). TECA is the surgical removal of the entire ear canal. This procedure will cost $5,000-$6,000.

Chica loves to cuddle and is housebroken. Per her previous family, she is good with kids and other animals. She will be a great family pet for one lucky forever home.

Please stay tuned for updates on Chica’s progress after surgery. Donations to her surgery and aftercare are greatly appreciated! It takes a village to help all these little ones in need!
