Humphrey in Alabama

Humphrey is ready to find his forever home! After 6 months of treatments for heartworms, he is on the mend and looking for a home that will cherish him.  Humphrey is a typical frenchie clown and loves to play and entertain his people. He is still a young guy and a puppy at heart, always on the go. Humphrey’s foster home reports that he is very smart and although he does not have formal training, he learns quickly and loves to please his people. Humphrey prefers to live in a home that has no other cats or dogs and where there is someone home during the day for him to hang out with. Humphrey, like many Frenchies, has a high prey drive and must live in a home with a securely fenced yard and be walked on a leash at all times. Heaven help the innocent little lizards his foster mom has had to fish out of his mouth who happend across his path on a sunny afternoon walk. After a nice day of playing and walking, Humphrey loves to cuddle and wants nothing more than to be a cherished pet. Does Humphrey sound like the perfect Frenchie for you? If so, keep reading his detailed bio below to learn more about this funny guy.

Temperament: Humphrey loves all people..adults and children alike. He is a very active fellow but once he settles, he is quite the cuddlier. Humphrey is very “iffy” around other dogs…tiny, huge, male, female..doesn’t matter to him when he decides something is not going his way. It doesn’t matter if the other dog does something or not to irritate him..sometimes he just feels the need to be top dog. An owner that is very positive and consistent in their discipline is needed for this little guy. Dog Parks are not recommended. Humphrey also has a very strong prey drive. He sees cats as his next meal. He also will try to catch and eat anything that crosses his path. The lizard was very grateful when I pulled him by his tail out of Humphrey’s mouth! Despite all of this, he will made some very lucky person a wonderful companion. He is funny, loving, and smart as a whip.

Well, of all the joints in all the towns in all the world, look who walked into French Bulldog Village! It’s none other than Humphrey the Happy Ham. Humphrey is a cute love bug of only 18 months old that was picked up by Animal Control in FL. In foster care Humphrey has proven to be very smart and he loves to play with the other Frenchies in his foster home. However, Humphrey is not fond of large dogs or kitty cats. Like any dapper man on the town, he likes to be the boss.

Humphrey has some medical issues that are currently being treated. He came into foster care with a skin infection, intestinal bacteria problems, tape worms, and heartworms. He is also a bit underweight as a result of these issues, but his foster mom reports that he is on the mend and should be packing on the pounds soon. Humphrey will begin heartworm treatments shortly and once those are completed he will be neutered.
