Evie is a beautiful 2.5-year-old Frenchie who was surrendered to FBV by her loving breeder. Despite living in a loving home prior, moving into a new place caused poor Evie to be very scared of noises, people and everything else in between. Evie would cower down and tremble at fast movement and loud noises. On her first day in her foster home, she got so scared that she even pooped on her foster dad! Understanding how being in scary, new situations can be, her foster family showed her much patience and love. It didn’t take long for Evie to warm up to everyone and now she is a very curious girl.
Evie is very chill and relaxed for the most part. A couple of times a day, she will get a burst of energy and want to play. She loves going on walks, but you must be careful as she will get under your feet. She is learning how to walk appropriately on a leash so she will need a little more training to master this. She loves chasing a laser light cat toy and will chase it for hours if you let her. She also loves to chew on toys and has destroyed all of them except for a rubber teething ring. At night, she loves to snuggle up close!
She has no ongoing health issues. She knows the commands to “sit,” “come,” and “leave it.” She is partially housebroken and will occasionally have accidents from excitement. She was spayed in January and suffered a UTI not long after, so her bladder is still recovering. The only accidents seen in her foster home have purely been from excitement. She does not require a stay at home person or someone who can provide a mid-day potty break, but she would prefer it. Evie is also crate trained but would rather not be crated.
Evie would love a forever home where there is at least one other dog to keep her busy; she loves having a furry companion to cuddle with during the day when she’s not attached to her person’s hip. A fenced yard is a must as she is a runner especially in new territory. Her defense mechanism is to run. A family who has a lot of patience to wait for her to open-up is a MUST!!
Evie is a very submissive dog…so much so that her foster family has had to separate her to eat sometimes because she will let the other dogs have her food. Evie loves other dogs but totally HAS to be the center of attention. She will go out of her way to make you notice her. Evie also has the cutest tiny bark and makes her foster family laugh every time she barks.
Evie is like no other! It takes her a while to open-up to someone but ever since she has with her foster momma, there is no doubt that she is 100% loyal. She cannot get to her momma fast enough when she comes home from the grocery store, when she sits down on the couch, or as she walks from room to room. Her love is unconditional!
