Welcome to our very own little Goblin, he arrived at his foster home just in time for Halloween. Jacques is a very cute 4.5-year-old Frenchie who thinks he’s a 6 month old terrier puppy.  Jacques is just full energy and has also developed a nasty case of fear aggression and resource guarding that his owner couldn’t resolve with him. Jacques gets a little too over-enthusiastic guarding his things including food and when something happens to him or around him, which scares him, his inner Goblin emerges.  His foster parents will be working hard with him on these behaviors. Hopefully with time comes trust; add in some good old fashioned exercise, training and love and (fingers crossed) Jacques sweet adorable side will be the only one we see. By the way did we mention that he just goes nuts for tennis balls or air Kong squeaker balls? The foster parents have had to start a budget just to keep up with his demand. You see, he carries one around in his mouth and plays soccer with the other one at the same time, all the time. After a couple days he’s done with those 2, shreds them and moves on to new ones.Next stop the vet, for a check up and a once over. He had convinced his owner that grooming parts of him was not a good idea, so as can be expected his nails, ears and teeth are fitting for a goblin but not a Frenchie. Jacques also appears to have some allergies and his foster parents will be transitioning him to a one protein, one carbohydrate diet to see if he gets some relief. Jacques will be spending some time with us settling in and learning the world is not out to get him.
