Everyone please give a warm welcome to our newest foster girl, Oprah! Her foster mom says she is a sassy and super spunky 9-year old gal. She is healthy as a horse and spayed. Oprah is good with other dogs, except she does not love sharing toys or her food bowl. Stay tuned for more updates on this little lady’s progress in foster care!

Memorial for Roe’s Bud

September 13th, 2017|

“Every once in a while, a dog enters your life and changes everything…Author Unknown”
This rings true for our followers, but one in particular on this day. Losing our beloved animals has a different reaction with each of us, much like losing a family member. Some, like our follower Janice Walker Pogue, decide to make the lives of others better and for her very generous donation to the Village we wanted to make this day […]

RIP Amos

September 8th, 2017|

The Village mourns today the loss of our foster, Amos. What should have been an elongated soft palate surgery to ease his breathing turned out to be a surgery that discovered a huge tumor lodged in the back of his throat. A heroic effort was made to give him a chance for life but the tumor was not able to be removed. Amos crossed the Bridge in the arms of those who loved him. […]

Memorial for Ellie (formerly Fiona)

August 22nd, 2017|

Ellie’s forever parents sent this amazing memorial for us to share about their precious little girl:

“Ellie passed away at home on June 19, 2017. We were and are devastated by her loss. We wanted so much more for our little princess—we wanted to share the world with her, and to share her with the world. Ellie was so many things: happy, playful, insistent, funny, mischievous, clever, stubborn, indulgent, but mostly she was love incarnate. […]

Chauncy in Virginia

August 22nd, 2017|

Please give a warm welcome to our newest foster boy, Chauncy! Chauncy is hanging his collar in VA. Chauncy is a sweet older gentleman at the ripe old age of 11. He has been suffering from recurring UTIs and is currently is being treated for one. He has some mild allergies but with a change of food we think we can get these under control. Being an older gentleman, Chauncy is showing some arthritis […]

Devlin in Florida

August 22nd, 2017|

UPDATE 8/24/2017:

Devlin is currently in his awkward, gangly stage with gigantic ears. He loves to cuddle and lie on his back. He is also always standing on his hind legs like a kangaroo. Devlin is still working on potty training.

He is slowly starting to have more flexibility and is bearing more weight on his repaired leg. Trying to keep this boy calm has definitely been a challenge, but he is worth it. This little […]
