ADOPTION UPDATE 9/4/2018:

Panda has been adopted! He went to his forever home this past weekend and is already fitting in splendidly. He has a wonderful new mom, dad and Frenchie brother, Oliver. Congratulations to Panda and his new family on becoming a forever family!

Panda is now ready to find a fur-ever home where he will be tremendously spoiled and loved. He was surrendered to French Bulldog Village due to severe skin problems and allergies. Thanks to Panda’s foster mom and veterinarian, he is looking amazingly better. However, he will continue to have allergies throughout his life that will require constant maintenance.

He will need a family that will dedicate time to him and his skin to keep his allergy issues under control. He requires a person who will be willing and able to bathe him a couple times a week and spray his feet, chin and face folds daily or at least every other day. Panda is on Apoquel, CADI, antifungals and a hypoallergenic prescription diet. His new family will need to be able to afford to continue this medication routine so that there is no regression in his skin problems.

Panda is a pretty laid back and lazy fella, but he does have playful moments where he chases his puppy foster sibling and zooms around the living room. He loves to chew on antlers and Nylabones; this will keep him busy for hours! He also loves toys, especially stuffed toys!!! He likes to roll on the stuffies as he plays with them; however, he has yet to be a destroyer of them. His foster mom has found him a couple times chewing on artificial plants in the house, though, so these will need to be removed in his forever home. Panda likes to sleep and cuddle on the couch and is very good in the car.

Panda does not require a fenced yard. In fact, he really doesn’t like being outside. He prefers to go outside, do his business and then come back inside. Panda is housebroken, crate-trained and leash trained. He knows some commands, too. He will sit, stay, and down on command. Panda does not require a stay-at-home pet parent or someone to come to the house mid-day, but he also wouldn’t hate having these either.

He has no food or toy aggression and gets along well with his doggie foster siblings. He likes to be around other dogs and play with them, so it would be wonderful for him to have a brother or sister in his forever home, but he would do well as an only dog too. He does, however, have a bad habit of nipping at people when he gets excited and playful. It is not aggressive by any means, but it does still pinch and hurt. He is also mouthy during play and so for these reasons, it is best that he not be placed in a home with young children.

He is a great dog and has done very well in his foster home. He is loving and playful when he wants to be but is also happy to go off and take a nap by himself. Panda is a quite a quiet guy; his foster mom has never even heard him bark yet! He does very well with his baths, ear cleanings, and daily treatments of his face and feet. Extreme diligence will need to be taken to ensure that his severe allergic skin disease remains under control. His skin is much better than when he came into rescue and with proper care, it can stay this way!

Panda is an absolute doll! He deserves a home in which all his treatments will be continued and to have a forever family that will shower him with all the love and attention that he is entitled to receive!!!
