Rey is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating his personality and addressing his medical needs. An email notification will be sent when he becomes ready for adoption. If you wish to receive the notification, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Rey!
Please give a warm welcome to Rey! He is a 2.5-year-old gentleman who was surrendered to the Village when his energy level and medical needs became too much for his young family to handle.
Rey has been evaluated by his regular vet and was found to be in good health except for regurgitation issues. He does regurgitate quite a bit. He eats special food which his foster family feeds to him 3 times a day in little meatballs. He also gets small amounts of water at a time. He will see a specialist while in our care and hopefully we can figure out what is causing this problem.
He is not fully housebroken, but his foster family is working on it. He doesn’t love his crate but will go in when his foster family is out of the house. He likes girl dogs, but since he’s not neutered yet, he likes them a little too much. They let him know when to back off, and he understands and walks away.
Rey is very sweet. He loves to snuggle and just wants to be with people. However, we were told by his previous family that he resource guards with toys which he has not done so far in his foster home. His foster family did see resource guarding, though, when he grabbed an empty water bottle and didn’t want to let go.
Rey has a great personality. So far, he is a happy guy that we hope will continue to thrive in his foster home. He still has a way to go, though, medically and behaviorally before being ready to be adopted.
We greatly appreciate any and all donations! $400 will help us provide Rey with some basic essentials, such as a harness and leash, as well as help us cover some of his vet bills.
