WINSTON ADOPTION UPDATE

We will be closing the application process for Winston. Winston has had a setback with his tummy issues and we do not feel at this time we can adopt him out until we get his tummy issues under control. We are starting a food trial to evaluate if his tummy issues are allergy based. If food trials do not work, we will need to do a biopsy for IBD. We never want to adopt a dog to a family that is having problems. All applicants that have already submitted an application to adopt Winston will be held for now and reviewed. Once we get his tummy issues under control, we will adopt him out to a fur-ever family. You will NOT need to submit another application. We also will NOT be taking anymore applications once he is better. We have received a numerous amount of applications and it will take time to evaluate all of these. Please be patient with us while we try to get his tummy issues under control and review all applications. We will keep everyone updated on his status.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Winston is a handsome but very HYPER boy! He has a tremendous amount of energy! Winston was surrendered by a loving family because of their daughter suffering from allergies. The family did not socialize Winston properly as a young pup and spoiled him rotten likely resulting in some of his craziness.

Winston has ongoing stomach issues causing him to have loose stools. He will require a special ID food from the vet. Other than his tummy issues, this little guy is a healthy and vibrant pup!

Mischief maker to the fullest, Winston will require a family that is HIGH energy! He has a lot of energy and never really settles. He is submissive to other dogs but wants to constantly play which can tick off other dogs. He does nip at times and therefore, will not be adopted to a family with young children. His foster mom walks Winston almost 3 miles a day and he still is a ball of fire!

Winston nips both humans and dogs when playing. His foster mom has curbed the nipping mostly with humans and now instead of nipping, he licks. When you go to pick him up, he pancakes and rolls over; it’s hysterical!

Winston loves bottles with the tops removed. He also loves sticks from the backyard. He absolutely loves to play and will require a very high energy playmate who can tolerate his nonstop playing. He is very stubborn and will run when he doesn’t want you to catch him, like you’re playing a game.

He is only partially housebroken. He is very good about going outside but as with any puppy, has had a few accidents in the house, especially with his stomach issues. He is puppy pad trained but refuses to really go on them in his foster home.

Someone that stays home all day or works from home is not required but preferred. If someone works outside of the home, it is preferred but not required that Winston’s forever family come home mid-day or hire a dog walker for a mid-day potty break. He is crate trained and leash trained and does not need a home with a fenced yard. He knows the following commands: sit, stay, fetch, come and heel.

Winston would love a home with another high energy dog or a home with no other dogs. He cannot be around little children as he will nip them. Winston is a typical Frenchie puppy and can be very loving! He deserves a family that will continue to work with his puppy mischief and be able to handle his high energy.
