Welcome, Dolly, to the Village!

This petite 20lb girl is 7 1/2 years old with a December birthday. She was lovingly surrender to FBV when her mom got a new job and Dolly was spending 12-hour days in a crate. Her life began in Mexico and at some point, she also lived in Texas but then she found her way to Florida.

Dolly has had puppies in the past but not anymore due to her last family having her spayed. Dolly gets along fine with the resident dog but not sure about the 2 cats in the household. We were told she did fine with cats, but she is still adjusting to the ones in her foster home. Time will tell if she will be able to live with cats in her forever home.

Dolly loves to chew on bones and although we were told she likes balls, she has shown no interest in them. Dolly is definitely a Velcro dog, so you have to watch where you are walking at times. You can’t go anywhere in the house without her following you. Dolly is a sweet girl who always has to be the first one out the door and does listen to commands of stay and come. She sits for treats and is very gentle when taking them.

She enjoys sitting with you at the end of the day so make room for her or she will try and sit on your lap. Dolly walks well on a leash and sometimes prefers to be walked to do her potty breaks. At night, she sleeps in her pen with the door open in a bathroom hallway that is gated from the rest of the house. Once morning comes, she is enjoys the rest of the house with her foster family. Dolly is good at going potty outside but at night while she is sleeping, she sometimes wets her bed. She is up to date on all her vaccines but will be seeing the vet about some itchy paws she has been licking.
