Hello Village! It’s our pleasure to introduce you to another new foster, Ricky! He is just the sweetest boy and full of energy!
Ricky is 3 years old and is adjusting well and getting along with the resident Frenchie and human kids. He LOVES toys! He is a little possessive with them but plays well. He’s learning how to snuggle (& not nibble). He also will try to rip pillows/blankets but listens to “no.”
He did great at the vet; all tests were negative. He has some backend weakness. His general vet said it is hard to tell how much is genetic vs. being crated a lot and not active. We will have him seen by a neurologist for further evaluation. He gets around okay, though, and doesn’t have any major mobility issues but is “clumsy” and falls over when he tries to stand on his hind legs. He is already gaining strength and stability while in foster care which is good news.
He’s also making progress with potty training. He has a habit of going as he eats his last bite of food but is learning to head straight to the back door. He has had 1 day without any accidents so that’s a win! He will continue to require some training and TLC.
Ricky is a very happy pup and winning hearts wherever he goes with his handsome grin! He is hard not to love! Stay tuned for updates on this sweet boy!
