Toad in Tennessee

Please give a warm welcome to Toad!! He is believed to be 7+ years old and is a tiny little guy at 13 pounds. He has a comical little face and is a cuddle bug for sure. Everyone who meets him falls immediately in love with him.

Toad is currently having some digestive issues. He has been experiencing some nausea and vomiting due to gas pockets in his intestines but the meds the vet prescribed are already helping. Toad also has severe dental disease and some cloudiness in his eyes. He will have a dental and neuter performed soon.

He gets along with the resident dogs now but there was a period of adjustment. At the start, he growled at the resident dogs checking him out in his crate as slow introductions were taking place. He also did get in a small spat with one of the other dogs over his foster mom, but his snap probably wouldn’t have broken the crust on a cream puff. Now he thinks he is one of the pack and trots around like he is a big dog. He will even sometimes curl up against one of them to nap.

House training is definitely a work in progress. He will pee outside and on a potty pad but not consistently. Crating training isn’t helping as it appears that may have been where he spent a lot of time in his previous home. He will just poop and pee in the crate. When needing to be confined, he chills in the closed off kitchen.

Toad is an absolute cutie pie and will make someone a great companion. Keep an eye out for when he is ready for adoption!
