Benji — The Sweet, Silly, Big‑Headed Boy Who’s Ready to Breathe Easy and Love Big

Benji — affectionately called Benny by his foster mom — arrived in Pennsylvania and immediately decided it was home. At just a year and a half old and 28 pounds, he’s a compact Frenchie with an oversized, goofy head; a soft, expressive face; and a heart that seems to spill over with affection. He blended into his foster family with remarkable ease, happily joining the resident female Frenchie, a gentle Bullmastiff, the household cat, and his doting foster parents. Benny is the kind of dog who makes everyone feel like they’re his favorite person.

Behind his cheerful, clownish personality, Benny was quietly struggling when he first came into rescue. His breathing was severely compromised by stenotic nares and underlying airway issues, making even simple joys — playing with his foster siblings, getting excited, or stepping outside into Pennsylvania’s summer humidity — exhausting. He often needed long stretches resting in front of fans and air conditioners just to recover. When he went in for his neuter consultation, the vet determined that his airway issues were too dangerous to ignore. He needed BOAS surgery before anything else.

Thanks to a specialist, Benny received both his airway correction and his neuter safely. He has now healed and is breathing more comfortably and soaking up every ounce of love and care in his foster home.

Benny is a wonderfully balanced mix of athletic and couch potato, submissive and goofy, Velcro and independent enough to explore. He loves toys, bones, rolling in the grass, wrestling with his foster siblings, and snuggling as close as physically possible to his foster mom. He’s a happy camper, a follower, and a total clown.

Home & Lifestyle

Great with dogs and cats — he loves his foster siblings and plays beautifully.
Would do well with older, dog‑savvy kids (12+) — he’s very excitable and does jump when he’s happy.
Housebroken, but needs frequent potty breaks.
Crate trained, though he prefers not to be crated unless necessary.
Leash trained — though he does pull a bit.
Does not do stairs, so a home without many or with easy access is ideal.
Active, affectionate, and very much a Velcro dog.
Would not thrive being left alone all day — he’s used to having his people around and loves companionship.
Prefers a fenced yard where he can safely play, explore, and roll around to his heart’s content.
He knows sit, leave it, and come.

Benny is tolerant of grooming, loves snuggles, loves his toys, and loves being part of whatever his people are doing. He’s been sleeping in his crate at night but during the day he curls up on the chair with his foster mom, content and peaceful.

After everything he has overcome, Benny remains a sweet, lovable, endlessly joyful little guy. He is ready for a family who will cherish his silly spirit and give him the love-filled life he deserves.

If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you, follow you, entertain you, and melt your heart daily, Benny is ready to meet you.

WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS.
APPLICATIONS FROM PENNSYLVANIA, OUT-OF-STATE AND CANADA WILL BE CONSIDERED.
WE REQUIRE THE DOG BE PICKED UP IN PERSON IN THE AREA OF THE STATE SPECIFIED ABOVE.
ALL ADOPTIONS ARE SUBJECT TO A HOME VISIT.
FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR FOSTER HOMES, WE DO NOT ALLOW MEET AND GREETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT SOME REGRESSION IN BEHAVIOR AND POTTY HABITS IS TO BE EXPECTED WHILE A DOG IS ADJUSTING TO A NEW HOME.

Mabel in Florida

FBVadmin — Tue, 29 Sep 2026 22:00:00 +0000

Mabel is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating her personality and addressing her medical needs. An email notification will be sent when she becomes ready for adoption. If you wish to receive the notification, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available, and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Mabel!

Meet Mabel — the tiny, tenderhearted shadow who believes her rightful place in the universe is inside your ribcage, curled up directly against your soul.

At just 3 years old and 16 pounds, Mabel is living proof that the sweetest things really do come in small packages. She is pure honey, pure sunshine, pure snuggle… honestly, she might be 80% love and 20% dog. If she could fuse herself to her humans like a little Velcro marshmallow, she absolutely would.

A Heart Full of Sweetness

Mabel is the kind of girl who wants to be near her people at all times — not in a clingy way, but in a “you’re my safe place and I adore you” way. She’ll happily curl up in your lap, but she’s also content to snooze a few feet away as long as she can keep you in her line of sight. She loves all humans, warms up to dogs with a little time, and carries a gentle, timid sweetness that makes everyone melt.

She’s a dream in the car, riding like a perfect little lady in her car seat bed. She crates well, handles short alone time, and walks beautifully on leash — with bonus points for dramatic grass‑rolling sessions that she seems to believe are performance art.

Her Medical Journey

Mabel has had long‑term diarrhea for about two years, and she’ll need to see an internal medicine specialist to help get to the bottom of it. She also arrived with giardia and isospora, and she’s currently receiving treatment to clear those parasites.

She is potty trained, but with her tummy issues, when she’s gotta go… she’s gotta go. She uses puppy pads reliably and is doing her best while her foster family helps her heal.

The Mabel Magic

There’s something about this girl — a softness, a sweetness, a quiet devotion — that makes you feel lucky just to be near her. She’s gentle, affectionate, people‑loving, and impossibly endearing. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t just join your home… she joins your heart.

Welcome to the Village, sweet Mabel. You’re already loved more than you know.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! Your donations will help us provide Mabel with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of her vet bills.

Arlo in Florida

FBVadmin — Sun, 27 Sep 2026 22:00:00 +0000

Arlo is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating his personality and addressing his medical needs. An email notification will be sent when he becomes ready for adoption. If you wish to receive the notification, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available, and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Arlo!

Meet Arlo, the tiny bunny‑hopping heart‑melter who has decided that humans aren’t so scary after all — especially the ones who provide snacks, cuddles, and a warm lap during evening TV time.

At almost 4 months old, Arlo arrived shy, unsure, and very much convinced that people were suspicious creatures. But give a baby Frenchie a week of kindness and patience, and suddenly he’s a full‑time shadow, glued to his foster mom like Velcro with legs. His confidence grows every single day — curiosity blooming, tail wagging, bravery peeking out in adorable little bursts.

His Personality

Arlo is a gentle, joyful little soul who expresses excitement by hopping like a bunny, especially when he’s playing with his foster siblings — a 1.5‑year‑old Frenchie and a 2‑year‑old English Bulldog. He adores them, follows them, and tries his best to keep up with their antics. When the day winds down, he transforms into a world‑class cuddler, snuggling in for family TV time like it’s his favorite ritual.

House training is underway and going well — he’s smart, eager to please, and catching on quickly.

His Health

Arlo has a very soft 1/6 heart murmur, and he’ll be getting an echocardiogram soon so we can learn more about what’s going on in that sweet little heart. He’s currently being treated for giardia and isospora, and he has one undescended testicle that we’ll continue to monitor as he grows.

None of this slows him down. He’s bright, playful, affectionate, and full of puppy joy.

A New Beginning

Arlo may have started his journey timid and unsure, but he’s blossoming into a confident, loving, silly little guy who just wants to be close to his people and play with his dog friends. He’s learning that the world is safe, fun, and full of good things — and he’s ready to keep growing into the wonderful dog he’s meant to be.

Welcome to the Village, Arlo. You’re already stealing hearts left and right.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! Your donations will help us provide Arlo with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of his vet bills.

Say hello to Milo — a tiny boy with a huge heart and an even bigger zest for life. At just 3 months and 8 days old and weighing 8 little pounds, he may be small, but he is absolutely bursting with joy, curiosity, and puppy sweetness.

Milo is the kind of puppy who makes every day brighter. He loves to play, cuddle, eat, and sleep, and he does each one with full enthusiasm. He’s a smart little guy who catches on quickly, and he’s already doing wonderfully with potty training most of the time. This sweet boy is currently getting all of his medical needs taken care of. Milo has giardia and isospora, and he’s already being treated. Eve in Connecticut

Eve is not yet ready for adoption. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Eve!

Meet Eve, the little sweetheart who has decided that life is pretty wonderful when you’re surrounded by kindness.

Eve is 3-4 years old, about 35 pounds, and genuinely one of the softest souls you’ll ever meet. When she first arrived, she was a bit nervous — the world felt big, new, and uncertain — but with gentle hands, warm voices, and an impressive supply of treats, she has begun to unfold into the warm‑hearted, affectionate girl she truly is.

Her foster family is helping her heal up her skin and get her allergies under control, and she’s taking it all in stride with her signature sweetness. She’s crate trained, happily goes potty on walks, and enjoys meeting new people and dogs when she’s out exploring. In her previous home, she lived as an only dog, and she’s now learning that new friends can be a lovely part of life too.

Eve is the kind of dog who leans in close, who melts into your hands, who looks at you like she’s memorizing the moment. She’s discovering comfort, joy, and connection — and she’s blooming beautifully.

She will need to be spayed and her allergies controlled before adoption, but once she’s medically ready, she’ll be searching for a family who wants a gentle companion with a heart full of love.

Miss Eve is ready to keep blossoming. She just needs her forever home to grow in.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! Your donations will help us provide Eve with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of her vet bills.

Francois in Maryland

FBVadmin — Tue, 22 Sep 2026 22:00:00 +0000

Francois is not yet ready for adoption. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Francois!

Meet Francois, better known to his adoring fans as Frankie — a five‑year‑old, 25‑pound gentleman who arrived at FBV with a suitcase full of love, good manners, and impeccable vet records. This boy didn’t come from hardship; he came from a home that adored him, and it shows in every soft-eyed glance and every happy little wiggle.

Frankie is healthy, neutered, chipped, and fully up to date on his shots — basically the rescue equivalent of showing up with his passport, résumé, and three glowing references.

He’s also house trained. Yes, you read that correctly. A Frenchie who already knows where to potty. Miracles do happen.

Now, let’s talk personality. Frankie is an energetic, gentle sweetheart who thinks every walk is a parade thrown in his honor. When he sees other dogs, he gets very excited — a little too excited — and can look reactive at first. But once he actually meets them, he’s friendly and social, like, “Oh! You’re not a mysterious creature… you’re my new best friend.”

And if you’re wondering about cats? Frankie has already passed the vibe check with all four resident felines. He’s respectful, curious, and wonderfully well-behaved around them.

This boy is the full package — loving, lively, social, sweet, and ready for his next chapter. We don’t expect him to be with us long… dogs like Frankie tend to get scooped up fast by families who recognize a gem when they see one.

For now, he’s charming everyone at FBV. Soon, he’ll be charming his forever family.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! Your donations will help us provide Francois with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of his vet bills.

Tokyo in Illinois

FBVadmin — Mon, 21 Sep 2026 22:00:00 +0000

Tokyo is not yet ready for adoption. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Tokyo!

Introducing Tokyo — the handsome pied heartthrob

Tokyo is a 2½‑year‑old, neutered boy who arrived at FBV as an owner surrender. His parents separated, and with his mom’s long work hours, he was spending far too many hours alone. He was deeply loved, but his family knew he deserved more companionship, structure, and attention than they could give — so they made the difficult, selfless choice to let him come to FBV.

From the moment Tokyo hopped into the car for his ride to foster care, he revealed what a good boy he truly is. He traveled beautifully, and with slow, thoughtful introductions, he’s been doing wonderfully with the resident Frenchie. He’s not reactive on leash, enjoys meeting other dogs, and has a natural curiosity about the world around him.

Those first hours in his foster home were a little overwhelming — new sights, new smells, new people — and Tokyo was anxious and unsure. But with patience and routine, he has settled in beautifully. He’s calmer, more confident, and showing his true personality: smart, strikingly handsome, food‑motivated, and an unapologetic cuddle bug. His favorite move? Rolling right onto his back for belly rubs like it’s his full‑time job.

Tokyo sleeps perfectly through the night in his crate, is potty trained, and is working through a bit of marking with belly bands. He loves toys, massages, and being close to his people. He’s also learning about boundaries and manners — nothing dramatic, just typical young‑Frenchie enthusiasm that needs a little guidance. Nail trims are still a work in progress, but his foster family is helping him learn that pawdicures aren’t scary.

Tokyo does have significant breathing issues. His palate is extremely problematic, and when he gets excited, anxious, or overheated, his breathing becomes quite concerning. He has been to the vet for pre‑surgical bloodwork and a heartworm test, and everything looked good so he will be scheduled for BOAS surgery. Until then, everything is slow and gentle — short walks, calm play, and careful monitoring.

Despite his challenges, Tokyo is an incredible dog who will make someone a wonderful companion. We feel lucky to have him in our care.

We are asking our followers for help. The high end of Tokyo’s BOAS surgery estimate is $1,925.15. Any donation — big or small — is deeply appreciated and goes directly toward giving this sweet boy the healthy, comfortable life he deserves.

Tokyo is settling in, learning the ropes, and showing us every day that he’s worth every ounce of effort. Thank you for supporting him on his journey.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! Your donations will help us provide Tokyo with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of his vet bills.

Nova in Maryland

FBVadmin — Thu, 17 Sep 2026 22:00:00 +0000

Nova is not yet ready for adoption. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Nova!

Meet Nova, our Champagne Supernova — a 3‑year‑old, 29.5‑lb sweetheart whose entire mission in life is simply being close to her people. She’s a certified Velcro girl, happiest when she can follow you from room to room, curl up beside you while you work, or tuck in next to you at bedtime. If she can be near her humans, she’s content.

Inside the home, Nova is wonderfully calm and incredibly well‑mannered. Even through her nervous belly and the stress of adjusting to a brand‑new life, she hasn’t had a single accident. She sleeps peacefully through the night, either in her own bed or yours, and during the day she’s perfectly happy gnawing on a bone while you answer emails. She’s also a mega cuddler, a sunbathing queen, and a proud thief of unattended stuffed animals.

Outside, Nova is getting braver every day. She enjoys exploring the yard at her own pace and occasionally breaks into joyful Frenchie zoomies. She walks nicely on leash, though she’d much rather run free and do her own backyard adventures. Fireworks didn’t bother her, but the vacuum earns a respectful amount of space.

Nova arrived with some separation anxiety and a nervous tummy — understandable for a girl whose entire world just changed — but with medication, probiotics, and a bland diet, she’s already improving. Her vet visit confirmed she’s in excellent physical health, and her personality is blossoming more each day. She loves big people, little people, and especially loves snuggling up with her foster family’s son during bedtime tuck‑ins. Her wiggle butt is legendary.

Her one challenge is other dogs. Although she previously lived with a dog brother, she made it clear she did not care for the resident Frenchie in her first foster home. Because of this, Nova has been moved to a new foster home in Maryland, where there is another dog — but introductions are happening slowly and intentionally. Nova is being given time to decompress, settle in, and become familiar with the other dog at her own pace. Safety, structure, and patience are the priority.

Nova is a special girl — gentle, loving, people‑oriented, and deeply devoted once she feels safe. Everyone who meets her falls in love.

She is still settling into her newest foster home, where we’re hoping she will continue to shine while we learn more about her needs.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! Your donations will help us provide Nova with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of her vet bills.

Benji in Pennsylvania- MOVING TO AVAILABLE SOON!

FBVadmin — Wed, 16 Sep 2026 22:00:00 +0000

Benji is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating his personality and addressing his medical needs. An email notification will be sent when he becomes ready for adoption. If you wish to receive the notification, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Benji!

Benji (also known as Benny to his foster mom) has officially made himself right at home in Pennsylvania, melting hearts from the moment he arrived. At just a year and a half old, this 29-pound French Bulldog carries the biggest, goofiest head, a remarkably sweet face, and a gentle soul to match. He settled into foster life with effortless ease, quickly becoming a cherished part of the pack alongside his foster mom and dad, a resident female Frenchie, a male Bullmastiff, and even the household cat. His endearing, fun-loving personality shines through in everything he does, and he loves his foster family just as fiercely as they love him.

Beneath his affectionate and goofy exterior, Benny faced a tough challenge with his breathing. Severe stenotic nares and underlying airway issues made even everyday activities hard on him. Simple excitement, playing with his foster siblings, or stepping out into Pennsylvania’s summer humidity left him severely winded, often requiring over half an hour resting in front of air conditioners and fans just to catch his breath. During his neuter consultation, the vet determined that his severe breathing issues made surgery too risky without correcting his airway first. To give him the best care possible, we immediately brought him to a specialist, who successfully performed both his airway surgery and neuter.

Now, with his procedures behind him and a clear path to breathing comfortably, Benny is resting up and continuing to soak in every bit of love his foster home has to offer. He brings endless joy to everyone around him, and once he fully recovers, this special boy is going to make one very lucky family whole.

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! Your donations will help us provide Benji with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of his vet bills.

Blueberry in South Carolina

Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Blueberry!

Meet Blueberry, a 2-year-old, 31 pound, Merle French Bulldog whose stunning coat is matched only by his heart of gold! This sweet, spirited little guy is a total joy machine who thrives on life’s simple pleasures—whether he’s strutting his stuff on daily neighborhood walks, enthusiastically tackle-testing his favorite chew toys, or working through a prized bone with absolute focus.

Blueberry is the definition of a lovable goofball. Equal parts playful and affectionate, he’s a social butterfly who adores kiddos of all ages and is always ready to join in on family fun. Beyond his charming personality, he’s a total whip-smart fast learner who already has his house-training down pat.

Blueberry has made a couple of visits to the vet recently. On his first trip, his big personality and extra enthusiasm meant he needed a little bit of calming medication to help him relax and get through his checkup smoothly. On his second visit, he went in for a surgery that successfully repaired an umbilical hernia alongside his neuter. We are holding out high hopes that the neuter will help tone down some of his over-the-top teenage excitement and marking habits!

While he is feeling great and recovering like an absolute champ, he hasn't received his final, official vet clearance just yet. Keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned—this irresistible boy will be officially ready to steal your heart and complete his journey to a forever home very soon!

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! Your donations will help us provide Blueberry with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of his vet bills.
