Meet Francois (Frankie): Professional Lap Launcher, Toy Enthusiast, and Full-Time Joy Spreader
If you could bottle happiness, excitement, and the occasional surprise fart, you'd get Francois.
Known to his friends as Frankie, this 5-year-old, 30-pound bundle of enthusiasm is looking for an active family ready to embrace life at full speed. Frankie was lovingly surrendered by his previous owners and has settled beautifully into foster care, where he's shown everyone exactly who he is: an affectionate, goofy, toy-obsessed clown with a heart of gold.
Frankie lives by one simple philosophy: why walk when you can bounce?
Whether he's dramatically launching himself onto the couch, proudly parading around with a squeaky toy, or zooming through the yard, Frankie approaches every day with unmatched enthusiasm. His foster family describes him in one perfect word: ebullient.
When playtime is over, Frankie has a softer side. While he's an independent guy who doesn't spend all day glued to your side, he definitely likes being near his people. In fact, he has claimed one very specific spot on one very specific couch where he loves climbing into his foster mom's lap for snuggles. No other furniture will do. Frankie is a dog of principles.
Frankie gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently lives peacefully with several cats. Slow introductions to new canine friends are important, as he can get very excited when he sees dogs out on walks, but once he has the chance to meet them properly, he generally wants to be friends. He also shares his home with four dog-savvy cats and does just fine. Squirrels, however, are another story entirely. Frankie believes they are highly suspicious creatures that require immediate investigation.
This happy boy is housebroken, crate trained, and loves riding in the car. He sleeps contentedly in his crate every night, has no separation anxiety, and isn't possessive of food, toys, or other treasures. He's simply a good-natured guy who wants to enjoy life.
Frankie's biggest work-in-progress is his leash manners. He gets very excited at the beginning of walks and pulls hard, so he'll need a family committed to continuing his training. Because he doesn't quite understand his own strength and occasionally forgets he's not a tiny puppy, he'd do best with older children (10+) who won't be easily knocked over by his exuberant greetings and enthusiastic lap landings.
An active home would be ideal for Frankie. Long walks, play sessions, adventures, and perhaps a fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy would make him one happy pup. Previous reports indicate he's a bit of a runner if given the opportunity, so secure containment is important.
At the end of the day, Frankie isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for people who will laugh when he turns toy time into a one-dog comedy show, appreciate his oversized personality, and love him for exactly who he is.
If you're searching for a loyal companion, a dedicated car-ride co-pilot, an accomplished squeaky-toy collector, and a dog who greets every day with pure joy, Frankie may just be your perfect match.
Warning: Adoption may result in excessive laughter, a house full of squeaky toys, and occasional surprise flatulence.
But trust us, Frankie is absolutely worth it.
