*Is there an age requirement for adopting a dog from French Bulldog Village?

We do not adopt to anyone under the age of 21.

*How do I make a donation?

You can donate anytime through Paypal. You do not need a credit card to donate through PayPal.

*How does the adoption process work?

  1. Foster dogs are deemed ready for adoption by the foster family.
  2. The dog will be listed under the available section on our website.
  3. We accept applications which are reviewed by the Board of Directors, foster families and our Foster Coordinators.
  4. We check vet and personal references. Please ensure that your vet records are up to date and that your vet has been given permission to speak with us if we call. We call your vet to discuss your pet’s vaccination and medical history. Also, let your personal reference know we may be calling.
  5. We do a home inspection (remember if you’re renting, we’ll need to see your lease).
  6. We determine the best match, and the Board of Directors approves the adoption.
  7. You come pick up your happy snorting family member.
  8. We will keep in touch after the adoption, and hopefully, you will send us photos and stories about your FBV Alum.

*Can I apply for a dog while it's listed as a foster dog?

No. While the dog is still listed as a foster, we don't know everything about the dog – and neither do applicants. Something may come up that completely changes what type of home the dog can be in, and it may change your mind about applying for that particular dog. We require that you wait until we have a full picture of the dog's personality and medical issues before we accept applications. We will only accept applications for dogs listed in the available section of our website.

*How do I receive notifications on foster, available, and adopted dogs?

If you wish to receive email notifications of when we bring in new foster dogs, move dogs to available, and when dogs are adopted, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. You can also follow us on our social media pages for updates on our pups.

*How do I apply for a dog I want?

Read our "Adoption Process" page and then fill out an application for the dog you are interested in by clicking on the “Apply” button on the profile page of the dog.

*Can the Frenchie I plan to adopt be shipped?

No. We do not ship dogs. Some airlines don’t allow it due to the breed; it's not always safe for the dog; and there is a lot of liability in it. Plus, who doesn’t want to snuggle their new dog right away anyway?!

*Can I apply for a dog that isn't located near me?

Yes. We encourage you to apply for the dog that best suits your families needs, no matter the location. Just keep in mind we do not ship dogs, and you will be responsible for the dog's pick up if you are approved. We accept applications from the United States and Canada.

*Why aren't the dogs all purebred French Bulldogs at FBV?

We take in all French Bulldogs and French Bulldog Mixes. We don’t discriminate or turn anyone away if they have some of that clownish, snoring, bat eared dog in them.

*Why is there an adoption fee?

We are a rescue organization and take in French Bulldogs of all ages with all sorts of prior life experiences. We must rehabilitate and vet all dogs before we can re-home them. Fees for spays, neuters, allergies, vaccinations and other medical needs add up quickly. Vet fees typically exceed the adoption fee by far, but the adoption fees and donations help offset the cost.

*How do I volunteer or update my existing volunteer information?

Remember this doesn’t just mean fostering! While we are always looking for people to foster, we also need help with fundraising, transporting, and performing home visits.
