Lucy in Florida– ADOPTED!!

Lucy has moved to her forever home and what an awesome home it is! She has a wonderful new mom and dad, a human brother and a Frenchie brother. She and her doggie sibling are already best buds and love to play with each other. We are absolutely thrilled for this family and look forward to hearing more about all the love and fun they share together.

Lucy is a beautiful, approximately 2-year-old female who had lived in a small crate in a garage her whole life before being surrendered to FBV. She came to rescue full of milk and still with stitches from having had babies. When her foster mom picked her up, she was terrified and filthy. She didn’t even have a name!

She has no ongoing health issues. She is very submissive and has shown no temperament issues while in foster care. She has not been introduced to children in her foster home or other dogs except her foster sister. She gets along very well with her foster dog sibling, though. They love to play together. They share toys and chase each other all the time. Lucy copies her foster sister in everything!

Lucy loves to run and play but quickly tires like a typical Frenchie. She will be fine with a short stroll for exercise and would do well with a fur sister or brother. While she would prefer an adoptive home with a fenced yard, it is not required. She is partially housebroken as well as partially potty pad trained...she is learning but because of her past this will take a while. She gets better each day with her house training. When her foster family is not home, she is set up in a separate room with a child gate and potty pads to prevent accidents throughout the house.

She is still learning to walk on the leash without pulling. However, she is crate trained; although, she prefers not to be crated. She also would prefer someone who is home all day or who can provide her with a midday potty break, but it is not required. She knows the commands sit, leave it and come. Lucy knows her name and will come when called.

Lucy likes baths and loves to be clean. She also loves her bed and toys as well as running around through her foster home. She smiles when you feed her and begs for puppy cookies and cheese...and her face when she eats the cheese is hysterical! She likes to steal toys and be chased for them as well.

Lucy is a very sweet girl who is loving life now. She is such a happy camper but is still learning how to be a dog. She adores people and to be loved on. She would love to have her own forever person to snuggle and love. She is smart and learning quickly. When she first came into rescue, she feared everything but has now started trusting people. She is going to be a great dog for the right family who will love her and treat her like the diva she deserves to be.
