Pancho in Maryland- MOVING TO AVAILABLE SOON!

Pancho is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating his personality and addressing his medical needs. An email notification will be sent when he becomes ready for adoption. If you wish to receive the notification, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Pancho!

Please give a warm welcome to Pancho!!

Pancho is 3 years old and weighs 23 lbs. He is a very friendly guy but a bit stressed being in a new home with new people and a doggie housemate. He likes some affection but is not a huge snuggle bug. Sometimes he prefers just to be by himself. Hopefully as he warms up in his foster home, this will change.

He has been to the vet and was found to have an ear infection and UTI. He still needs to be neutered and has suspicious growths on both front paws that will be aspirated at the time of his neuter. He is also being followed for regurgitation. He seems to suffer from a buildup of mucus overnight and on his morning walks, demonstrates frequent throat clearing which often leads to him throwing up the mucus. Sometimes mucus can be seen in the regurgitation of his food after eating too. He eats about 6 times a day and is kept as calm as possible before and after eating (stress and activity seem to make his regurgitation worse). He is also taking Prilosec and is transitioning to Royal Canin Gastrointestinal food.

Pancho can be somewhat neurotic. His weirdest behavior is with his crate. Sometimes he settles in it okay and eventually sleeps, while other times, he can’t settle. At his worst, he will have a mini panic attack. He also does not seem very comfortable being on the couch or human bed but is slowly warming up to hanging out on them.

He has not yet met the resident dog, but his previous owner reported him to be good with other dogs. He has been perfect with house training but loves to mark outside. He also is pretty good on walks but alerts to small animals and birds.

Please stay tuned for updates on Pancho and the progress he makes in foster care!
