Get excited everyone because I am available for adoption!
It’s me, Aimee. I am 4 years old and weigh 29 lbs. I am a healthy gal with my only issue being a recessed vulva that will need cleaning with a wipe each day to ward off UTIs. I am very compliant, though, and will let you do whatever you need to do to keep me clean and healthy.
I am very affectionate with people. I will follow my person around with time and after you have earned my trust. I like to chew on bones but am not into playing with toys. I will get the zoomies from time to time and play some with my foster parents but am not very active. My foster mom says I am very gentle and the perfect, mannerly lady.
I am still skittish when abrupt noises or movement happens around me. For weeks I was afraid of everything but am becoming more confident and trusting every day. My ideal home would be a quiet one (no busy city environment or young children, please!) with my adopter having the patience needed to help me get used to my new surroundings.
I need to continue to work on my leash walking and would absolutely love a home with a fenced yard. However, it is not a complete dealbreaker if you don’t have one. You just need to be careful with me because if I get scared, I will become a bucking bronco and could slip out of my harness if not fully secure.
I am housebroken. I don’t need someone who is home all day but will need a midday potty break.
I will need VERY SLOW introductions to other dogs in my new home. Even now in my foster home, I don’t interact with the easy-going resident dogs. Initially, I was very fearful and guarding of things (even growled and snapped at the other dogs) but have not shown any resource guarding in several weeks. I now eat right along with the resident dogs. I also now allow the other dogs to enter my “bedroom” (the gated off laundry room and where I will run if scared) whereas in the beginning, I would guard my “bedroom” and my crate. I will sleep with them on the floor and couch, too, but that is about it. I prefer they left me alone, so if you are looking for a playmate or buddy for your resident dog, sadly I am not it. I would rather be YOUR buddy!
I don’t know how I would be around cats but have not shown prey drive while in foster care. I don’t care about the resident cockatoo parrot and have never gone after the lizards outside. I also totally ignore the Roomba!
I am a very timid girl who needs lots of care, love and patience going forward to help me build my confidence and trust. With this, I will be the most loving and sweetest girl in return. I will even do my happy bounces for you that I know will be sure to melt your heart! Please apply for me…you won’t regret it!
