What’s up lovely people?! It’s me, Giuseppe, and I am ready to find my forever home!

I am a healthy, goofy 4 to 5-year-old guy who loves affection! I am super sweet, and I love to snuggle and be with my people.

I am tolerant of all grooming…wiping of ears and face, baths and nail trims…you name it, I am good with it! I am also housebroken. Over the last few weeks, I haven’t been marking on things around the house. However, I can’t promise that until I settle in and learn the ropes of my forever home that I won’t mark some initially.

I would be okay in a home with children but will need an adult present to set boundaries and be consistent with them. I am also okay with some dogs but am dog selective, liking some dogs while disliking others. It doesn’t matter the size or sex of the dog…if I don’t like them, I just don’t like them. I would do best with slow introductions to other dogs in the house and my new owners will need to be quick to correct me and not put me in situations that will set me up for failure.

I am a pretty laid-back guy. I do okay on short walks on leash. I love chewing bones and flinging stuffed toys (I especially love the ones that crinkle) around. I like to play with other dogs (and play quite gently with those that I get along with), but I also love to lie on the couch. I do really well in the car, too…never getting sick.

I would very much prefer a fenced yard as I love to go outside and sniff and run around. However, I would be okay as an apartment dog too as long as I get regular walks. I do okay on a leash but do some zigzagging so some continued work on leash walking would be good. No worries with training using treats…I love them and am very good at catching them when you toss them my way.

So you are aware, I do sometimes seem to resource guard my foster mom with the resident dogs and will growl at the ones I do not like. I also sometimes want what other dogs have but have not growled or gone after them.

I do well in my crate and if you stand there and open the door, I will run right in. Foster mom thinks that I would do fine being left out of a crate alone at home too (if I am an only dog), as I don’t get into things or mess with things that aren’t dog toys. Sometimes I will bark when my foster mom leaves home, but I calm down quite quickly. My foster mom feels that maybe I am just joining in with the rest of the resident gang as they like to bark.

I would be okay in a home where the humans work but will need a midday visit for some lovin’s and a potty break. When you get home, I will give you the space you need but I will also be very excited, standing up on my hind legs and flailing my front arms around. I just love humans! I am good about giving you space while you sleep too.

My ideal home would be with someone who is active and comfortable with being consistent with me and providing firm boundaries. I will also need someone who understands that I will need slow introductions with other dogs and who will take the time to figure out my triggers.

Foster mom says I am one of the sweetest dogs she has ever met. She also says that I am not only handsome but a complete lover. I behave so well and just want someone to love me. I will also give lots of love back to you, so have no fear!
