Hey world…it is me, Cash! I am ready to find my forever home. I am 2.5 years old and was surrendered to rescue by my previous family due to them moving.
I have had BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) surgery as well as a hernia repair. I was found to have mild chronic gastritis as well. My breathing and regurgitation have greatly improved after having surgery. However, my regurgitation will still need to be monitored.
I have a history of IVDD and have seen a neurologist while with FBV for neck pain. With crate rest and medications, the pain improved. I will need continued monitoring for any signs of IVDD flare ups.
I love meeting people and dogs of all sizes and ages and get very excited, jumping up on them looking for pets. Because of my IVDD, it would be best if I receive continued training to not jump up. I am not scared of large dogs and will go up to them, just like small dogs, to rile them up to play with me. If going to a forever home with other dogs, I will need slow introductions as I can be a bit much for other dogs at first.
Other than the excitement I show with meeting new people/dogs, my demeanor is calm and relaxed. I am highly affectionate and will follow my person everywhere, wanting to always be with them or at least have them in my line of sight. I also absolutely love morning cuddles in bed!
I love car rides and am crate trained. However, I am not a fan of walking on a leash. I very much would love a fenced yard so that I can roam freely. I am okay with getting baths but don’t love having my folds cleaned and will wriggle away.
I am not on any special diet but sometimes I will resource guard my food, snapping at people if they get too close to my food while eating. I am partially housebroken and will need to be brought outside every 3-4 hours for me to be the most successful. I do not give much of an indication that I need to go outside except to stare you down or sit right next to you.
I would be a good apartment dog. I do not need a lot of space as I tend to spend most days on the couch. I also rarely bark.
I would love a stay-at-home parent so that I could have company throughout the day to play with me and love on me. However, I also would be fine with just a midday potty break if you work out of the home.
I love to play with squeaky, stuffed toys but what I love the most is chilling on the couch! If I must say so myself, I have a super cute personality. I am a happy, loving and cuddly guy. I am also extremely smart. I know the commands sit and come. I also know my name very well, along with all my nicknames, and will listen intently while you talk to me.
My foster mom says that I make her smile with my cute, goofy personality. She loves how I hop when playing. She also says I am a special little dog with a huge heart and very loyal. It may take me a few weeks to settle into a new home, but once I do, my amazing personality will shine through, and I will be sure to make everyone fall in love with me!
