Meet Gus — The Sweet, Deaf Puppy Who Loves Everyone
Gus is a 7‑month‑old bundle of affection who doesn’t let being deaf slow him down one bit. He was lovingly surrendered when his previous owner’s life circumstances changed, and now he’s thriving in foster care — playing nonstop with the resident 1‑year‑old English Bulldog, snuggling every human he meets, and charming his way toward his forever home.
A Total Love Bug
Gus is incredibly affectionate and happiest when he’s close to his people. He’s social, gentle, and loves other dogs. He eats alongside the resident dogs with zero resource guarding and enjoys their company throughout the day. We suspect he’d do fine with dog‑savvy cats or small animals, though we haven’t fully tested that.
He’s also good with older, dog‑savvy kids (ages 10+), especially those who understand puppy energy and a deaf dog’s communication style.
Smart, Trainable, and Puppy‑Goofy
Gus may not hear you, but he watches you closely and learns fast. He already responds to a hand signal for “come,” and because he’s very food‑motivated, teaching him additional signs should be a breeze. Like any puppy, he’ll get into things if left unsupervised, but he does beautifully in his crate when you can’t keep an eye on him. He sleeps quietly in his crate all night.
House & Leash Skills
- Housebroken with a doggie door or a consistent schedule
- Walks nicely on leash
- Crate trained and comfortable being crated
- Neutered and healthy
Other than being deaf, Gus has no medical concerns.
Ready for His Next Chapter
Gus is the perfect mix of cuddly, playful, and eager to learn. He’s almost adoption‑ready and will make a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a sweet, sensitive puppy with a big heart and a bright future.
