Meet Buddy — the sweetest little meatball to roll his way into FBV, and he’s already stealing hearts left and right.
At just 3 years old and 20 lbs, Buddy arrived from a shelter after coming out of a tough situation. He’s underweight, but don’t worry — this boy loves his food with the passion of a thousand suns. He’s already working hard on filling out, and he makes sure his foster family knows when dinner service is running behind schedule.
Buddy has a few infections that are being treated, but he’s doing wonderfully. In fact, he was the star of the show at the vet — charming everyone with his happy spirit and irresistible face. His corneal ulcer has healed beautifully, and while he’s still battling a stubborn skin infection in his deep facial folds, he’s taking his antibiotics like a champ.
Imaging revealed what are most likely breed‑related congenital spinal deformities. He’s not showing any neurological symptoms, but he’ll need lifelong monitoring for signs of IVDD. The good news? His patellas look great, and he’s moving around just fine.
Personality & Home Life
Buddy is pure sunshine. He loves people, adores kids, and thinks toys are the greatest invention in the history of the universe. He’s a playful, affectionate, happy guy who just wants to be loved — and he gives that love right back.
He’s pretty well housebroken, though he hasn’t quite mastered the art of announcing when he needs to go out. On leash, he pulls a bit, but he hasn’t had many walks yet — he’s learning. He’s also got a few magical scratch spots that, when hit just right, turn him into a puddle of bliss.
Buddy gets along fine with other dogs and politely ignores the resident cat. He’s simply an easygoing, joyful little soul.
The Heart of Buddy
Buddy is the kind of dog who makes every room brighter just by being in it. He’s resilient, loving, goofy, and grateful — a dog who’s ready to leave his past behind and step into a future full of comfort, care, and belly rubs.
He’s not quite ready for adoption yet, but he’s settling in beautifully and getting everything he needs. And once he’s ready… someone out there is going to be very, very lucky.
