Officially introducing PJ — the little Frenchie with the biggest comeback story and an even bigger zest for life.
At just over 1.5 years old and 22 pounds of black‑and‑tan charm, PJ arrived to rescue in rough shape. He could barely breathe, and anything he ate or drank came right back up. His foster mom quickly realized something was seriously wrong and took him to the emergency vet where he underwent bloodwork and chest x-rays that showed concern for aspiration pneumonia.
Three days later, this brave boy was in emergency BOAS surgery… and that’s when everything changed.
Today, PJ is breathing freely, neutered, healing beautifully, and back to bouncing around like the happy, goofy youngster he was always meant to be. His regurgitation is still a work in progress, but Reglan has helped tremendously, and his foster family is cheering him on every step of the way. If needed, he may visit an internal medicine specialist — but for now, he’s thriving. He’s also finishing antibiotics for Lyme disease and has an ear infection that’s clearing up nicely.
Through it all, PJ has been nothing but sweetness, sunshine, and pure Frenchie joy.
He loves everyone he meets. He gets along wonderfully with dogs, thinks the cat is pretty cool, and charms the vet staff every time he walks through the door. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and good on a leash — though he hasn’t had many long walks yet.
PJ is full of energy and loves to play, but he does need someone who can help him stay calm enough to avoid triggering regurgitation. When left alone, he must be safely contained so he doesn’t get into any mischief.
He adores toys, bones, cuddles, and being part of whatever his people are doing. His heart is huge, his spirit is bright, and his resilience is nothing short of inspiring.
PJ is stealing hearts everywhere he goes and when he is ready to find his forever home, maybe he will steal your heart too.
