Meet Milo: The Tiny Prince with the Giant Heart

At just 5 months old and a petite 11 pounds, Milo is proof that the very best things really do come in small packages. This adorable Frenchie puppy is equal parts cuddle bug, playmate, couch companion, and professional heart-stealer. In fact, he's so tiny that his foster mom swears he sometimes doesn't even look real. One look at his sweet face sitting up and gazing at you with those big eyes, and you'll understand exactly what she means.

Milo is the kind of puppy who greets every day with enthusiasm. New people? Wonderful! New dogs? Even better! Children? Absolutely! This happy little guy dives right into life, convinced that everyone he meets is a potential best friend. He currently lives with other dogs and young children and loves every one of them. Whether he's wrestling with his canine buddies, collecting toys on his bed, or showering his humans with kisses, Milo approaches everything with joy.

When playtime is over, Milo transforms into a champion snuggler. He loves to curl up on the couch, watch TV with his people, and soak up all the affection he can get. His ideal home is one where he can be loved, spoiled, included in daily life, and spend plenty of quality time with his family. His foster mom would especially love to see him with someone who is home more often than not and understands that puppies thrive on companionship and routine.

Milo's favorite hobbies include collecting toys of every variety, chewing on Benebones, playing ball, wrestling with other dogs, lounging on the couch, and hopping around the house like an adorable little bunny. He'll even "tool" around on his dog bed with his toys and bark at them as if he's having a very important conversation. It's impossible not to laugh watching this tiny guy entertain himself.

One of Milo's most endearing qualities is how eager he is to please. He truly wants to be a good boy. When given gentle guidance, a simple "No, no" is usually all it takes for him to understand what's expected. Whether he's considering a taste of another dog's dinner, investigating something he shouldn't, or occasionally trying to sample outdoor "snacks," he responds remarkably well to correction and quickly redirects himself.

Milo is a laid-back puppy with an easygoing personality. He enjoys adventures outside and loves strolling through warm grass, though he's still deciding whether wet grass is worth the effort. He may hesitate for a moment before stepping onto a damp lawn, but with a little encouragement he'll handle his business and move on with his day. He's also working on house training and is learning what "outside" means, though like any young puppy, he still has progress to make.

At home, Milo is a quiet little gentleman. He may whimper briefly when faced with something new, but once he understands the situation, he settles down nicely. He sleeps in a pen rather than a crate and does very well. He walks on a leash and enjoys being outside, whether or not his future home has a fenced yard.

When it comes to grooming, Milo is cooperative and sweet. He tolerates baths, although the jury is still out on whether he actually enjoys them. Ear cleaning isn't exactly on his list of favorite activities either, but with a little reassurance and encouragement, he's happy to cooperate.

Medically, Milo is clear of giardia and currently requires no medications. He did have an echocardiogram that revealed a small ventricular defect, which is responsible for the heart murmur his veterinarians hear. The defect is relatively small, and at this time he is expected to do very well, with hopes for a reasonably normal life. Milo will need a cardiology follow-up in one year and should be monitored throughout his life for any changes such as a significant cough or increasing lethargy that could suggest evolving heart-related concerns. Despite this diagnosis, Milo is currently a happy, active puppy who enjoys life to the fullest.

Because Milo is not yet neutered, his adopter will be required to sign a neuter contract.

As for cats and other small animals such as birds or hamsters, Milo has not been tested, so his compatibility with them is unknown.

What Milo is looking for most is simple: love, patience, and a family of his very own. He is especially attached to his foster mom, so he'll need a little understanding as he transitions to a new home. Once he knows you're his person, you'll discover what everyone who meets him already knows: he's a truly special little dog.

Milo is playful, loving, affectionate, funny, eager to please, and unbelievably cute. He hops, cuddles, plays, kisses, snoozes, and loves with his whole heart. Most of all, he deserves a family that will cherish him as much as he will cherish them.

If you're looking for a tiny companion with a huge personality and an even bigger heart, Milo may just be your perfect match.
