Get ready world, because Bao is ready for adoption! This tiny girl is 6 years old and weighs just 20 lbs. She came to FBV from a shelter. She is up to date on her vaccines, microchipped and spayed.

Bao is healthy except for some allergies. She has gotten Cytopoint injections in the past, but the last one was skipped because she has been doing so well, no licking her paws or girl parts and no scratching. Her adopter will need to monitor her, though, as she may require injections again in the future if her allergy symptoms return.

There have been no issues with her meeting dogs of different sizes, ages or sex. She currently lives harmoniously with her foster doggie siblings. However, she is fed separately as she resource guards food. She is also good with cats and children.

Bao is a good watchdog but takes the job too seriously and will rush at any new people breaching the front door without warning. However, her foster has learned that if she is kept in a separate room until visitors have entered the home and settled, she will trust your judgement that these strangers are not a danger and becomes a gracious host.

She will not do well with apartment/condo living as she is too noisy, barking at noises outside and dogs passing by. She also needs to live in the suburbs or country; she didn’t do so great when living in the city. She will require continued leash training for ignoring people and dogs on her walks (mostly pulls but barks a little too), but this is already better with her being in the suburbs vs. a city.

She is fully housebroken and does great in a crate...even falling asleep sometimes in her crate on her own. A fenced yard would be best for Bao given her issues with leash walking currently. She also is a lot calmer when in her own environment, and she loves to sit outside.

She does not require someone to be home with her all day but will need a family who will have the time to commit to working on further training with her (great news…she is quite smart, picks up on new things quickly and is very food motivated!) and the time to provide her with lots of love and cuddles. She would love a home where she can be on the bed and furniture. Her favorite thing to do is to snuggle up on the couch or bed with a blanket and her people. She is very cuddly and LOVES her people!!

This very sweet, lower key gal is ready to make many new memories with her furever family! If you think that could be you, please apply!
