BB in Maryland
BB is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating her personality and addressing her medical needs. An email notification will be sent when she becomes ready for adoption. Introducing BB to the Village. She is 5 years old and unaltered. She came to us as an owner surrender. She suffers from a rather difficult history of allergies and her surrendering family felt they did not have the time and means to deal with her care.
Her previous owners tried a number of treatments, but nothing had come close to solving the issue. Upon coming into rescue, BB was missing a lot of her coat and was often itchy. Already, while in her foster home’s care, she has vastly improved. Most of the redness, irritation, inflammation, and scabby spots have abated. Cytopoint injections, medicated baths, ear medications, probiotics and new food seem to be working! Her skin scrape was also negative, which is great!
She has a swollen mammary duct that was aspirated of blood indicating infection. Antibiotics were prescribed and we are hoping they will help, and it is not something worse. BB has been the model patient at all her vet visits!
BB is very sweet, good with other dogs (she is already great pals with her foster sister), and walks well on a leash. She is crate trained and will fall fast asleep in her crate. However, she really loves sleeping in bed with her humans! She is also WAY more active and raring to go now that she is feeling better.
