Hi! I am Bleu. I am only 3 years old and weigh 23 pounds. I am a good boy who unfortunately found myself in a situation where my old family didn’t have time for me and didn’t want to leave me in my crate all day.

I came into the rescue with some pretty bad ear infections and had a case of Lyme disease. I will need at least weekly cleanings to help prevent further ear infections. I also took some Doxycycline and cleared all that Lyme stuff up. I do get a little nervous when you mention going to the vet. My fosters give me some “happy pills” of Trazadone and Gabapentin. Those are amazing.

I am fed separately from my foster siblings. I like to eat out of their bowls, but I don’t really like it when they try to eat out of mine…it makes me really tense. I am good with getting my treats around them, though. I am currently on Purina Pro Plan for Sensitive Skin and Stomach. My fosters use this food to distract me when they clean my ears and face folds. It took me a few weeks to allow them to touch my ears. Same goes for nail clippings at the vet.

I like everyone I have met so far. People are so nice getting me the care I need. It’s pretty cool. The little humans I have met are cool too! They get as excited as I do and I forget that I am not allowed to jump on them. Oops. So kiddos over 8 would be best. I don’t want to scare anyone with my excitement! My current foster peeps have 4 kiddos over 9 and they are FUN! They play with me and my toys. I love the affection! I am also learning to fetch. That is a neat game.

I get a little nervous when meeting new dogs and would do best with slow introductions. I like girl dogs (that’s what I currently live with). Never met a boy dog yet so that is a mystery. I have also never met cats. My foster peeps say that I love to fixate on the wild bunnies in the neighborhood. I am nosy and they fascinate me a little too much so it’s best that there are no small animals in my new home. I AM HOUSEBROKEN (if kept on a regular schedule) but I will pee on anything outside. I will bark at other dogs and people outside until I meet them too. I just need reminding to mind my manners, especially when I pull on my leash to go meet them.

Being that I used to spend a lot of time in my crate, I don’t mind it. Speaking of captivity, a fenced yard would be awesome but not necessary if you can walk me several times a day.

I snort. LOUDLY.  That vacuum really gets me going. Eventually I let it do its job and give up the chase. I loved stuffed toys and bones!!! I also enjoy playing with my foster doggie siblings and being the curious neighbor keeping an eye on everything happening around me. I am very affectionate with people and am very happy chilling on the sofa, snuggling with my humans.

I really want to find a home that has time for me and can love on me like I will love on them!
