Chunk is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating his personality and addressing his medical needs. An email notification will be sent when he becomes ready for adoption. Please welcome Chunk to FBV! This handsome 9-year-old gentleman came to us as an owner surrender. Prior to coming into rescue, he had been in 3 homes.
He is healthy overall but has a wobbly backend and needs to drop a few pounds. He takes gabapentin and will happily eat it if you give it to him in a pill pocket. He loves his food and is a big fan of snacks!
He has been doing fairly well with house training. His foster mom lets him out to potty about every 4 hours or so. He hasn’t peed in the house yet and has had no poop accidents during the day. However, he does have poop accidents in his crate at night.
He does great in his crate! He knows the 'kennel' command and goes straight in, although he will give you the side eye…LOL! He will require additional leash training as he does pull hard on a leash. He also has some issues with stairs and sometimes needs help to go up them.
He and the resident dog are getting along well. However, he is fed separately because he will wolf his food down and then try to eat the other dog’s food.
He LOVES stuffies…all stuffies. He chews them; he sucks on them. It's absolutely adorable! He also enjoys chewing on Nylabones.
Chunk adores everyone! He is a sweet loving soul. He just wants to be near you and get all the love he can. He absolutely loves affection and could spend an entire day just curled up next to you on the couch.
