Claude: A Gentle Soul with a Wiggle and a Wink
Some dogs burst into your life like a firework—Claude arrived more like a warm hug. At 7 years old and a sturdy 30-ish pounds, this sweet Frenchie has settled into rescue life with grace, gratitude, and just the right amount of goofiness.
Claude’s journey hasn’t been without bumps. He’s faced IVDD, a mast cell tumor, and cherry eye, but he’s come through it all with a resilient spirit and a twitchy little back that dances when he stands or first lies down. It’s a harmless quirk that only adds to his charm.
Now thriving in his foster home, Claude is the kind of dog who makes friends wherever he goes. He gets along beautifully with his foster siblings (both canine and feline), and he greets every human like a long-lost pal. He’s learning the ropes of doggy playtime and is perfectly content tossing around a stuffed toy or chewing in peace.
Outdoors, Claude is a connoisseur of smells and sunshine. His evening “walks” are more like leisurely sniffing tours, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. Indoors, he’s housebroken, calm when left alone, and a master of the classic Frenchie move: sitting right at your feet during meals, eyes full of hope and mischief.
Claude will be visiting the vet soon for a check-in on his twitchy back, but for now, he’s soaking up love, lounging in sunbeams, and proving that sometimes, the gentlest souls leave the biggest pawprints.
