Meet Dottie!

Dottie is 3 years old and weighs approximately 21 lbs. She is the definition of a sweet, easygoing companion. She’s a classic little Velcro Frenchie who insists on being in the same room as her people at all times… though she prefers to keep her snuggles on a selective, by‑appointment basis.

One thing you’ll notice right away is that Dottie may be the snortiest, grunty‑est dog ever created. Her foster dad lovingly calls her “little piggy” because she sometimes sounds like a tiny garbage disposal running across the room. The vet has confirmed she has significant respiratory issues, and she’ll be getting x‑rays soon to evaluate for BOAS. The good news: while she’s loud in the snort department, she’s not much of a barker.

Dottie also struggles with regurgitation of both food and water — sometimes immediately after eating or drinking, and sometimes hours later. Her foster parents are actively experimenting with puzzle feeders, tilted bowls, and smaller, more frequent meals to find the routine that works best for her.

Outside of her medical quirks, Dottie is a joyful little explorer. She loves being outdoors and enjoys going for walks. She’s still working on her leash manners, but she’s enthusiastic about getting out and sniffing the world. She tolerates baths surprisingly well and doesn’t seem bothered by weather or storms.

Her favorite pastime is settling in with a Benebone and chewing happily for a couple of hours like it’s her full‑time job.

Dottie is still brushing up on the basics when it comes to potty training and general house manners, so she’ll need a patient home willing to help her continue learning. Her former owners shared that she previously lived with cats, though her foster home suspects she may be a little allergic to them and is working to learn more.

Overall, Dottie is a very sweet girl with a big personality packed into a snorty little body. She’s happiest when she’s near her people and loves being someone’s loyal little shadow.
