Not long ago we welcomed Estelle as a new member of the Village. She goes by the name Stella in her foster home, and we cannot think of a better way to acknowledge a new path in life by having a new name. She is the perfect dog; no, seriously we mean it! But with a perfect dog, comes many applications. Please remember we only have one Stella, but we have MANY other deserving Frenchies that need homes. If your application is not chosen, please don’t give up and consider the other Frenchies in our rescue that need homes.
Stella is:
- Good with dogs
- Good at riding in the car
- Has impeccable house manners
- Is housetrained
- Walks well on leash
- Loves everyone!!!!
- 100% GOOD GIRL
Stella is one of the happiest Frenchies you will ever meet. She has accepted her new life with vigor and is loving every minute of it. She was an owner surrender and while she does show evidence of having at least one litter, her owner did care for her and made the right choice surrendering her to rescue.
She is 2 years old and roughly 24 pounds and is a healthy girl. We do not know how Stella is around children so a home without littles is preferable. In addition, Stella has not been around cats, and we would not recommend a home with cats because of this.
Stella has done well interacting with the staff during her vet visits. She has a calm and mellow personality with a submissive nature. We think this is why she would get along in most households without issue.
Stella has done well with crating but prefers to spend as much time as possible outside of the crate! This is why we feel she would do best in a home where her person/people are home all the time. Preference will be given to homes that can provide this.
She has shown a tendency to eat poo, so it is especially important that yards are kept clean and picked up. We’d love Stella to have her own fenced-in yard like she does now, but this is not required. Stella will walk on lead, but it is unknown how she would do on long walks, so having a yard for off leash exercise would be perfect. If there is no fenced yard, her new owner will need to consider that she may need additional leash training.
Stella is a good watch dog and will bark at unknown noises. Her foster parents think this is a good thing, but this may be a concern for apartment dwellers or people with neighbors in close proximity. Stella thrives on attention. She also loves hard bones and is always happy to greet you with them!
Stella is located in OKC.
