Gracie in New York

Gracie is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating her personality and addressing her medical needs. An email notification will be sent when she becomes ready for adoption. If you wish to receive the notification, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Gracie!

Meet Gracie! She is 2 years old and weighs 26 lbs. She is known in her foster home as the “land seal!” because anytime you get near her (like to take a picture) or want her to do anything, she crouches down on her belly and starts wiggling all over. She also loves splooting!

Doorways, ramps and stairs are a bit scary to her, but she eats well, loves being outside and hanging in the grass, and is doing well with her house training (no accidents in the house, just some instances of excitement-based peeing). She mostly ignores the resident cat and while she was also mostly ignoring the other dog at first, she is now playing with him. She really seems to enjoy pups her size but has not shown fear to any pup that she has met.

She is tolerant of baths and other grooming. Overall, she does well in her crate…barks only a bit at night and if woken up. Her foster family is working on manners and basic commands with her, but she is easily excitable and not treat or food motivated so it is a work in progress.

She has shown no food aggression and is a sweet, docile gal. She loves attention and gets so excited to see people and get affection from them. She loves blankets, towels and anything similar and will play with them as if they are toys…beating them up.

Gracie has been to the vet for her vaccines, heartworm check and fecal test. She is scheduled in the next coming weeks for her spay and to have her airway assessed. Therefore, she is not yet ready for adoption but keep an eye out for when she is, because she has such a loving personality and will make someone a wonderful companion!

We greatly appreciate any and all donations! $500 will help us provide Gracie with some basic essentials, such as a leash and food, as well as help us cover some of her vet bills.
