Meet Griselda: A Tenderhearted Companion With So Much Love to Give

At just 2 years old and a petite 22 lbs, Griselda is a compact bundle of love, silliness, and loyalty. Her journey to rescue began when her previous owner could no longer manage her care, but this tiny trooper has taken every twist in stride. She’s a resilient, affectionate, wonderfully silly girl who is now ready to find the person she can adore forever — because when Griselda loves you, she really loves you.

A Loving, Loyal Companion

Griselda is deeply attached to her people. She’s submissive, gentle, and incredibly affectionate with humans — a true cuddle bug who melts into your lap and gives her whole heart. She’s shy and timid when meeting new people or trying new things, but with repeated exposure she warms up beautifully. She used to bark her way through drive‑thrus; now she’s a seasoned pro who rides along happily.

She’s playful, sweet, and a little clown with a hilarious excited hop that will brighten even the dullest day.

Her Ideal Home

Griselda will need to be your one and only dog in the home. She lives peacefully with cats and even enjoys playing with them, but she has a history of fighting with other dogs inside the home due to being possessive of her person. Outside the home, she’s great — no reactivity on walks, and she’s done well with other dogs at daycare.

She would thrive with:

  • A home without other dogs
  • Dog‑savvy cats (she’s great with them!)
  • Older, dog‑savvy children (ages 10+)
  • Someone who can give her regular potty breaks or a midday break
  • A person who wants a loyal shadow and snuggle partner

She does not require someone home all day, and she does not need a fenced yard — she’s good on leash and will potty on leash without issue.

Personality & Behavior

  • Moderate energy: playful outside, calm and well‑behaved indoors
  • Loves toys, especially Nylabones and stuffed toys
  • Quiet overall — may bark briefly in her crate when she wants out
  • Good with stairs; apartment/condo living is perfectly fine
  • Crate trained and eats her meals in her crate
  • Sleeps in her cozy bed inside her crate
  • Walks nicely on leash but could use a little more practice
  • Housebreaking is going very well — she goes to the door but still needs monitoring

She’s tolerant of baths, wiggly for nail trims, and absolutely loves car rides.

Medical Notes

Griselda has a few ongoing care needs, but nothing that stops her from living a happy, full life:

  • Apoquel as needed for seasonal allergies
  • Occasional ear infections
  • Tacrolimus eye drops in both eyes until her recheck in April
  • Will need a Schirmer Tear Test at a regular vet in April
  • Has had three cherry eye surgeries
  • No food allergies or intolerances

She’s a trooper with her care routine and handles it all with grace.

Why You’ll Love Her

Griselda is the kind of dog who bonds deeply and loves wholeheartedly. She’s silly, snuggly, expressive, and full of personality. She’ll follow you around, curl up beside you, make you laugh with her goofy antics, and remind you every day how lucky you are to have her.

She may be spicy with other dogs, but with people? She’s pure sugar.

If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will adore you, entertain you, and snuggle you endlessly, Griselda is your girl. She’s ready to give her whole heart to someone — maybe that someone is you.
