Joey in Pennsylvania
Joey is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating his personality and addressing his medical needs. An email notification will be sent when he becomes ready for adoption. If you wish to receive the notification, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available, and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Joey!
Hey, hey, hey, it’s me—Joey “Meatballs!” I’m struttin’ around Pennsylvania with my big ol’ noggin and even bigger heart. I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t overthink things—I just dive headfirst (literally) into your lap for pets and love. My foster mom says I’ve got Joey Tribbiani energy: goofy, loyal, and maybe a little flirty. I mean, I even made friends with Penelope the cat, and she’s got standards.
I’m about 24 lbs of compact chill, 2.5 years young, and I’ve got a soft spot for Yak bones, Benebones, car rides, and my donut bed. I walk like a champ and listen like a gentleman. I’m cool with other dogs, especially if they’re laid-back like me. There is not much I don’t like, but I do get a little spooked by weird noises, so apartment life isn’t my vibe.
I’ve got some quirks—my tongue’s a bit of a whopper, so treats and kibble need to be bite-sized. I’m also working on some allergy stuff (lots of paw licking and face rubbing), and I’ve got a big appointment coming up soon to check out my breathing (it’s noisy and I hack once in a while). Fingers crossed I’ll be even comfier once that’s sorted! Oh, and grooming? No problem. Baths, ear cleanings, face wipes—I’m chill about it all. Just another excuse to get fussed over.
I’m semi-velcro, meaning I love being near you but I won’t cling like a shadow. I crate well when you’re out, though nighttime is a different story—I tried free roaming and ended up snuggled in bed. What can I say? I like being close. I’m 90% potty trained; I had a couple of oopsies early on, but I’m a quick learner. I poop like clockwork after meals (currently switching to lamb and loving it), and I’ve got a thing for stuffies… durable ones, please. RIP Lamb Chop.
For now, I’m just soaking up the good life in foster care—learning the ropes, getting my breathing checked out, and figuring out what makes me feel my best. My foster mom says I’m a total sweetheart with a goofy streak, and she’s helping me get ready for whatever comes next. I’m not quite ready for my forever home yet, but I’m working on it one belly rub and Yak bone at a time.
