Y'all! Can you believe that I am looking for a home? Right!?! Neither can I! My name is Kira. I am 5 years old and a svelt 22 pounds and as cute as a button!

As far as the critter doc can tell, I am in good shape. I did come into the rescue with an ear infection but it's all better. The critter doc said that I should not have food with chicken in it. I need to pass on the poultry!

I like all kinds of folks! Big and little folks, alike. But I am a bit shy around new people and dogs. It takes me a little while to warm up to them, but I get there. I also am not too fond of female dogs. My Collie foster sister reallllly annoys me!

The other day, my foster brother and I (I keep hearing he's a "Boston" whatever that means) were outside and he went and caught himself a bunny. Those things are faster than a greased pig on an ice rink! Boy howdy! I wanted in on that fun, but my foster momma made us "drop it.” I think I would like to chase those critters if I get the chance. So, I probably oughta have a fenced in yard unless my new home is an apartment or condo and you put me on that silly string thing called a leash.

Speaking of being outside, LAWD when it's warm, I do my business and go right back inside. All that heat makes me breathe hard and that ain't lady like! It's too hot and this sweet lump of sugar might melt. I'm getting better at potty training. Foster momma says that she needs to keep an eye on me to make sure I actually go.

I will pitch a bit of a hissy fit when it comes to a bath. I know it has to be done, but it doesn't mean I have to love it. I simply tolerate it. My foster mom took me to the dog version of the nail salon (groomer) to do my nails. I felt fancy!

I was taught that we don't get on the sofa. Now, I heard through the grapevine that this is actually OK. I'm skeptical but think I might get used to this after a while. Also, this belle needs to be carried down the stairs. Hunny, no. I can go up but refuse to go back down those things.

Foster mom says I'm coming out of my shell, which is weird because I'm not a turtle. I am gonna need someone that has the patience for me and my shell. I am working really hard to learn what being a dog is. I am gonna crush being a dog! Just you wait and see! I'm gonna leave you grinnin' like a possum eatin' a sweet tater!
