Leo in Indiana

Leo is not yet ready for adoption. We are still evaluating his personality and addressing his medical needs. An email notification will be sent when he becomes ready for adoption. If you wish to receive the notification, please sign up for our mailing list at the top of the front page of our website. Adoption fees are set at the time a dog goes available, and applications can only be submitted at that time. Please follow our website and social media pages for updates on Leo!

Say hello to Leo, a 3‑year‑old sweetheart fostered in Indiana who’s just beginning his rescue journey. Leo is learning the ropes of foster life, discovering the joy of squeaky toys (the louder, the better!) and practicing his leash strut like a true champ. He’s already showing progress with his foster brother and proving himself to be a loyal shadow who wants to be wherever you are.

Life hasn’t been without challenges for Leo. He experiences significant anxiety when confined to a crate, so his vet has prescribed calming medication to help him feel more secure. With patience and support, he’s learning that safety and comfort can be found outside of those anxious moments.

Leo has also faced medical hurdles, but he’s tackling them with courage. He was recently neutered and had nare surgery, and his vet team discovered a lot of vertebrae changes, especially spinal compression, on x-ray. To help manage his pain, Leo is on medication and will be seeing a neurologist for further evaluation. He’s also starting joint supplements to support his mobility. While he sometimes limps on his back leg, his spirit remains strong and determined.

Right now, Leo is focused on healing and getting the medical care he needs before he’s ready to look for his forever home. In the meantime, he’s soaking up love, squeaks, and support from his foster family. Stay tuned as Leo continues his journey — this resilient boy is sure to inspire hearts along the way.
