Well…well…well, look who is ready to find her forever home! It’s me…Mabel…Sheriff Mabel to some!

I have earned the nickname of Sheriff Mabel in my foster home because I insist on breaking up any cat fights that occur. I will immediately race to the scene of the fights and get right in the middle, sending both cats running.

I am 5 years old and 28 lbs. I came to the rescue after my previous owners had some unexpected life changes, and they had to make the difficult decision to surrender me.

I currently live with other dogs and four cats. I am GREAT with the resident dogs, one large female and one small male. I enjoy cuddling with them and would love to play with them if they had interest, but they are older and don’t care to play. I am also good with the resident cats. They were initially cautious of me but have quickly warmed up to me. I mostly ignore them, but occasionally will try to play with them and even chase them out of excitement. I would suggest any cats in my forever home be dog savvy. I have not been around kids, but my foster mom and I think I would be fine with them.

I am a snorty Frenchie but have been evaluated by a specialist for airway surgery, and it was deemed I did not need it but that I could stand to lose a few pounds of weight which would help my breathing. I eat in the kitchen with the resident dogs and as long as the others mind their own business, there’s no trouble. However, on occasion, they have shown a bit too much interest in my food and I have snapped at them, making it clear I am not interested in sharing with them.

I am great with grooming - facial folds, ears, and nails. I am leash and crate trained. I also am housebroken. I will let you know when I need to go out by going to the back door. However, I don’t like going out in the rain and will typically pee on the porch if it’s raining.

I would be okay living in an apartment or condo. I don’t need a large or fenced yard to be happy. I am not even a fan of grass. I prefer short walks and to do my business quickly, not taking time to romp and play outside. I do bark sometimes but not excessively and am okay doing short flights of stairs.

I am great on car rides! I love Nylabones and chew toys that make noises – squeaks, crinkles. I am a sweet goofball who is equal parts playful nut and couch potato. I don’t need a ton of exercise but appreciate some short walks each day. I also don’t need someone home with me all day but would prefer at least a midday potty break.

I would love a home where I can sleep in bed with my humans but am good with sleeping in my crate at night if needed. I also would very much love a home with another young, playful dog or two. I enjoy the company of other dogs and love to play!

Per my foster mom, I am an absolute cannonball of love. I am a very, very happy girl who loves affection, playing and belly rubs! She also says I am very smart and learn new things pretty quickly. I am laugh out loud funny and one of the happiest dogs she has ever met. I love sleeping next to my people and am a huge cuddler! My foster mom says I deserve a home that is as joyful as I am and will give me all the love I want and need! If this sounds like you, please apply!
