Introducing Neeko!

Some dogs arrive in rescue with a story that stops you in your tracks, and Neeko is exactly that kind of dog. He spent roughly six weeks living alone in a house, visited only once a day for food and cleanup. It’s the kind of situation that could dim anyone’s spirit — but not Neeko. 

Now safely settled into his foster home, Neeko is proving that resilience comes in many forms and sometimes it’s a snore loud enough to rattle a window. Upon coming into rescue, he was started on a gentle diet-and-exercise routine, because he was carrying a few extra love-pounds. To keep everyone confident and stress-free, all dogs in the home eat separately — a system that lets Neeko enjoy his meals without worrying about competition.

Neeko, affectionately known as “Chunk,” is an 8‑year‑old muscle muffin with a heart of gold. He’s bold, fearless, and perfectly housebroken — as long as you keep him on schedule, he’s a rock star. His thick, sturdy build and history of BOAS surgery mean he moves at his own pace and snores like a tiny freight train, but honestly, it only adds to his charm. He listens well, though he can be a bit pushy with other dogs, so he’s currently on a “short leash” to help him remember his manners. Underneath that tough‑guy exterior is a big softie who just wants to be included.

When cleared for adoption, he will be looking for a home that welcomes his big personality and heart and his determination to enjoy every moment of his new life.
