Rennie in Oklahoma

Please welcome sweet Rennie to FBV! This adorable 3-year-old Merle beauty weighs just 18 pounds but carries a whole lot of love in that little frame. Surrendered due to financial issues, Rennie is now settling beautifully into her foster home in Oklahoma and is ready for a fresh start.

Rennie is heartworm positive and currently undergoing the slow kill method of treatment, which includes monthly preventatives and antibiotics. She also has a UTI that’s being treated, and once her heartworm journey is complete, she’ll be spayed and microchipped. Despite her health challenges, Rennie is up to date on all her vaccines and is showing incredible resilience and sweetness.

This affectionate girl is crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has quickly become her foster mom’s little shadow—she’s a true Velcro dog! She loves cuddling in the chair with foster mom, snuggling with the resident pups, and has a hilarious streak too—like the time she stole a food dish and stashed it in her crate before zooming around the house!

Rennie sleeps soundly in her crate but prefers the dog bed beside her foster mom after a midnight potty break. She’s had only one accident indoors and is learning quickly. She’s playful, loves squeaky toys, and while she can be a bit of an alpha, she’s also a brave little barker who’s working on her manners.

Rennie is currently thriving in her foster home, where she’s receiving the care and comfort she needs to complete her heartworm treatment. She’s not yet ready for adoption, but she’s making wonderful progress and soaking up all the love around her. As she continues her journey toward better health, we’ll be cheering her on every step of the way—and we can’t wait to see the happy, healthy future that awaits this little sweetheart.
