Rex in Pennsylvania- ADOPTED!

Greetings and salutations! My name is Rex. I am a handsome 18-month-old fur nugget! I tip the scales at 26 pounds.

Let’s get the nitty gritty stuff out of the way, first.

Grooming: Not a huge fan. I will tolerate a bath and pedicures but if I get the chance to run, woohooo! I’m outta there! I will allow you to clean the folds on my beautiful face. My foster mom does this twice a day to avoid any issues and it helps to keep me dapper.

Potty training: Hey, I am getting there. In my previous life, this wasn't an issue. But now I know that my people expect me to go outside so I am working really, really hard to impress them with my rockstar potty etiquette. Part of this is making sure I go outside before you put me in my crate, so I don’t make a mess. My foster mom has me wear this thing called a Thunder Shirt and I really dig it! It helps me cool my jets in the crate.

I eat poop. There. I said it. If you don’t watch me, I will eat poop. Foster mom gives me a treat once I go potty and I realllly like that. Helps to keep me focused on my business and distracted from the poo piles.

And if I drink too much water at once, I will recreate the fountains in Las Vegas and throw it up. So much like the poo….watch me with the water intake too. I am trying not to get so gosh darn excited about my own water bowl. What can I say?

Speaking of cooling my jets, I am working really hard not to jump on strangers for pets when I meet them or to pull on my leash, but I love all people. They seem to love me too, which makes me want to work even harder on pleasing them with good manners. Speaking of people, I prefer to be near them. I mean the crate is OK, but not what I prefer. I like dogs and kids (8+ since I tend to playfully bite when excited) and play time as much as cuddles and food! Ohhh, and chew bones. I really like those! So far, being part of this Village ROCKS!

Foster mom says I’d probably do best with a fenced in yard and someone that’s home a lot. It’s the potty-training thing and I want to keep my momentum going!  If you have kiddos or other dogs, even better!
