Meet Tiago — The Gentle Giant With A Whole Lot of Heart

At over 2 years old and a solid 48 pounds of Frenchie enthusiasm, Tiago is the kind of dog who makes an impression the moment you meet him. He’s as sweet as can be and yes quite the big boy, but he’s already working on trimming down to a healthier weight with a new diet and cross‑training routine. Think of him as the Incredible Hulk of the Frenchie world… just with better manners.

Tiago arrived with a few medical needs that are actively being addressed. He has a cherry eye on one side and a dermoid on the other eye. He’ll be seeing an ophthalmologist soon for evaluation and corrective surgery. He’s also being treated for irritated skin on his stomach, groin, and paws — likely allergy‑related — with medicated baths, oral medications, and antibacterial powder for his paws. Add in bilateral ear infections that are being treated and a prescription diet (Royal Canin HP), and you’ve got a boy who’s getting the full spa‑and‑wellness package.

Despite all that, Tiago has been nothing short of a dream. He’s been a star patient at the vet, rides calmly in the car, and hasn’t made a peep in his foster home. He’s incredibly tolerant of all the poking, prodding, and eye‑drop‑giving that comes with his care. His foster family describes him as a gentle giant — sweet, easygoing, and eager to please.

With other dogs, Tiago has shown friendly, playful interest. He’s taken a walk with his foster doggie sister and did beautifully, and his foster family is continuing slow, thoughtful introductions. So far, he’s all wiggles and no worries.

Tiago still needs to complete his medical treatments, including his eye surgeries and neuter, before he’ll be ready for adoption. For now, he’s settling into foster care, soaking up affection, and showing us just how special he is.
