Meet Twix — the tiny treat with a big heart.

At 6.5 years old and just 14 pounds, Twix has already lived a few chapters in her story, and she’s more than ready for the one where she finally gets to exhale. She was first surrendered to a local rescue before making her way to FBV, where she’s now settling in, healing, and learning that she’s safe.

Twix is crate trained and currently a full‑on Velcro dog — the kind who wants to be close enough to hear your heartbeat. She’s still decompressing, so we’re taking introductions slowly. Behind a gate, she’s been reactive to the resident dogs, and she may have some resource guarding around her crate. None of this is surprising for a girl who’s been through a whirlwind, and we’re giving her all the time, patience, and gentle structure she needs to feel secure.

This brave little lady recently underwent emergency surgery for pyometra, and she’s recovering beautifully. She’s now up to date on vaccines, eating well, drinking well, and showing us more of her personality each day.

Twix is still unfolding — like a flower that just needs the right environment to bloom. As we learn more about her, one thing is already clear: she’s a resilient, loving soul who wants nothing more than a soft place to land and a person to call her own.
