Hey world, it’s me, Victor! I am 2.5 years old and came to the rescue with 3 other dogs when my owner became elderly and no longer could properly care for me. I spent a good bit of time in a crate.

I am healthy now but came into rescue with trouble breathing. I also had cryptorchidism which occurs when one or both testicles do not drop into the scrotum. I have been neutered and had airway surgery (soft palate and nares corrected) and am now breathing better.

My house training is coming along. It is definitely a work in progress, but my foster mom is pretty sure I will get it soon. I have shown that I can go days without an accident, so I am definitely capable of learning to potty only outside. Frequent potty breaks while I am training will be a must! For this reason, it would be great if you’re retired or work from home but if not and you work outside the house, midday potty breaks will at least be needed.

I am fine with getting baths and having my folds and ears cleaned. I am good in my crate. I know the commands sit and come. I also walk very well on a leash and love to go on walks (but I don’t require a ton of exercise). However, I won’t potty on the walks…I will wait until I get back to the fenced yard. Speaking of fenced yards, I would love one at my new home. It is not a requirement, and I could totally be an apartment/condo dog, but I do love fenced yards…chasing balls and having the freedom to poo wherever I like.

I am okay with other dogs with slow introductions but will sometimes hump them (I’m sorry but I was a breeding dog, so it is a hard habit to break). I will stop, though, if you say, “No.” I actually prefer people to dogs so my preference would be a home without other dogs where I could get all the attention to myself. I absolutely love people and will follow my person to the moon and back. If I am adopted into a home with other dogs, only one other young even-tempered, complaisant dog would be best.

I am fed as all the other dogs in my foster home…by myself. I have shown no resource guarding over food with humans. However, I have shown resource guarding with other dogs. I like my resources…foster mom and toys…what can I say. I initially would growl at the resident dogs when on the couch with my foster mom, but I was a bit stressed the first couple weeks. Now I am good and will lay comfortably on the couch with everyone. I have also snapped at the other dogs over toys. I will need an owner who is experienced with rescue dogs and resource guarding.

While I have not been around kids in foster care, I should be okay with older, dog savvy children. I have not been around cats either, but foster mom believes I probably would be okay with cats after slow introductions. I do have some prey drive (I have started chasing lizards outside and even caught one) so please no small animals.

I love Benebones but am not a huge fan of car rides. I love being with my humans but don’t have separation anxiety which is a good thing! I am content just chilling in my crate when no one is around.

I am very loving and the ultimate cuddle buddy. Wherever my foster mom goes, I am right there by her side. I am also smart. If you think you are the one for me, please apply! I know I will make you happy as I just want to please my person and be their loving companion.
